Sephora

CHAPTER 1

Sephora could tell that her world was slowly crumbling in on her as she stared through her window, watching  the hustle and bustle of new yorkers, wondering if it was even worth it because in the end, it all boiled down to the people you love and how they regard the effort you are making towards providing and protecting them.

    "Miss Williams?"
Sephora heard, making her turn to her long time secretary, a 59 years old plump woman who had served the purpose of a mother to Sephora and a grandmother to her kids.

    "Martha, we talked about this"
Sephora scolded the older woman who she had told multiple times to call her by her name.

     "I only agreed to do that outside the office"
Martha replied.

    "The Italian is  here"
The older woman informed Sephora who nodded, indicating with a wave of hands that he should be let in.

With a Quick nod Martha walked away while Sephora took a sit and opened the presentation she had already prepared for the meeting, if everything went as planned  she was going to expand her brand to the European Markets, starting with Italy.

From the day she opened Apex Groups, she had worked to her bones with the sole intent of conquering the market, although it was harder than she'd hoped, It has gradually become a dream come true with little to two continents left on her list.

At the closing sound of her door Sephora calmly rose to her feet with a slight smile, lately her smile seemed to be dimming by the seconds, it seemed like she no longer held the mental strength to smile about anything.

     "Miss Williams"
He acknowledged, causing Sephora to nod before stretching her arms for a handshake, he was the most handsome man she had ever seen, but then again, she had thought the same thing about the bastard she was currently married to.

    " I'm honored to have the richest man on earth in my office today"
She joked, eliciting a deep rumbling laughter from him.

    "Hopefully you will be joining me up there?"
Aries quizzed Sephora who laughed before waving her hands.

    "Hopefully there will be enough space for me"
She replied, eliciting another laughter from the gentlemen.

    "We have gone through your proposal and although you are coming In with a big deal, we are all about risk so - "
Aries suddenly got interrupted by Martha barging into the room looking very frantic and spooked.

Hell had better be on earth to warrant such disruption,  Sephora thought before turning to Martha with a glare.

   "I'm sorry ma'am but i've got Ivy's school on the line"
Now that was something that rarely if ever even happened.

   "Hello?"
Sephora spoke after excusing herself and pleading for the understanding of the gentleman who hopefully  understood why nothing was more important than her kids.

    "Your attention is needed here at the school"
The person on the other end spoke before hanging up.

She had kept her kids hidden from the world, she knew the dangers of putting them out there in the world as her and her husband's children, the press would never let them have a normal life.

For this reason, they were registered by her sister who was always standing in for them if they were ever to attend public functions.

The world knew she had kids, what they didn't know was the identity of those kids, a plan that seemed to work for them until now because her sister's number suddenly seemed unavailable.

    "Ma'am there's something you must see"
Martha's voice came in rather nervous but now wasn't the time, she needed to be with her kids.

   "I am deeply sorry  but I will have to Cut this short today"
She couldn't even bring herself to say it again because she was already rushing out the door.
