CHAPTER 31

After what felt like a solid lonely week later, Sephora wondered if Aries had played with her emotions by asking her to wait for him.

He hadn't called, texted or even as much as said hi through Ella yet she knew they communicated often times.

       "Hey girl"
Ella greeted, sitting beside Sephora on the bed, looking quite exhausted.

     "So I will be cooking lunch in a bit"
She continued, getting a nod from Sephora who was honestly in no mood to talk to anyone.

  Slowly, Ella rose to her feet and walked to the door before stopping.

     "Everything is not always as it seems Seph"
Ella said before smiling sadly and walking away, leaving Sephora who honestly lacked the energy to even acknowledge whatever her words meant.

  With her discomfort growing by the seconds, She found herself strolling to the balcony where she leaned on the rays, staring into the far distance.

    Did Aries miss her as much as she did?

Did he wonder if she was okay the way she was wondering about him?

Was he okay? Was everything going as planned where he was? Was he having fun? Was he with someone else? Was he happy with that person? But he asked her to wait.

He asked her to wait in a very affectionate manner, promising to come back soon so what was the problem?

     " Hey Mom?"
Ivy greeted, Smiling softly before leaning on Sephora who took a sit and lifted little Ivy on her thighs.

     "I barely see you guys anymore"
Sephora whined, pouting in a manner that got Ivy giggling loudly.

       "We barely see you too mommy"
Ivy countered, earning a soft gasp from Sephora who intentionally widened her eyes.

     "I'm always here babe"
Sephora replied before kissing Ivy's face softly.

     "I hear Uncle Aries will be back today Mommy"
Ivy announced excitedly, bouncing in excitement while Sephora gaped in shock.

     "He is?"
Sephora asked, earning excited nods from Ivy who swiftly climbed down.

     "We are going to prepare a welcome back surprise for him"
Ivy yelled, placing a loud kiss on Sephora's cheeks before running off while Sephora immediately jumped off and ran to her room and started pacing.

She needed to get dressed, she needed to clean up, shave, she needed to get ready for him but what if he was no longer feeling as excited as he was before he left.

So many thoughts but in the end she simply closed her eyes and exhaled slowly before going to the bed and gently laying down, what was she doing to herself?

This was not some high school crush promising to take her to prom, this was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with so what was she doing acting like some teenage girl?
Talking about shaving? They had barely even had a conversation for the past ten to eleven months yet the first thing she's thinking about is shaving?

Slowly she closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Some hours later, she woke up and realized that it was already dark outside making her wonder how long she'd slept.

Quickly she freshened up and went down stairs, joining everyone for dinner except the atmosphere seemed awfully dampening.

Slowly she kissed the kids who barely even acknowledged her and then took a sit.
