Sanem fell asleep earlier than he had. After talking with the detective that Metin had set them up with. He had felt better about getting to the bottom of this whole mess with this additional resource. Metin had already suspected that there was more to this than they knew. He had a private investigator looking into all things related to Yigit and now with the help of the detective things might progress further still. After they called Metin and the police they left and went back to their newly acquired residence. Part of the house was perfectly livable while the guest areas were in need up repair and remodeling. After unpacking and settling in Metin, the investigator and the detective joined them to go over what they had uncovered thus far. The hotel cameras had images of Yigit entering the lobby of the building across from theirs over multiple weeks. They had been right. He had been spying on them and it made Can's skin crawl at the thought of it. Later the detective informed them that they had found binoculars and a listening device in his room. The next thing was to check their hotel room and just as Sanem believed they located a camera planted on the ceiling fan above their bed and on a light fixture in the living area. Can felt the blood drain out of his face as he imagined what Yigit has seen, filmed and heard while he and Sanem had been intimate. He had made love to Sanem multiple times and in many positions and the thought of that sick bastard watching him make love to his woman made him angrier by the second. He revolted at the thought of that vile excuse of a man watching their most intimate of acts. He would have beheld Sanems body in the most vulnerable positions and it made him swear he would see him dead. As realization dawned on Sanem he saw her face redden and then become pale with disgust. She excused herself and when she had not returned for some time he decided they had had enough for the evening. He showed the men and Metin out, promising the latter that he would be in touch later. He went in search of Sanem and found her huddled in the shower under the hot spray of water. When he couldn't coax her out he stripped and joined her. Holding her close while she cried. He swore to himself again that if it was the last thing he ever did he would end Yigit once and for all. He had taken away so much from him already. She didn't deserve to look over her shoulder for the rest of her life. He convinced her after several tries to finally get out of the shower. He held her tight and whispered his words of love and helped her into her robe.  He quickly dried off and told her to get in bed and he would be back with a cup of cay. When he returned she was already fast asleep. He tucked her in and closed the door behind him and walked down the hallway, back to the kitchen. He sat with his own cup of cay and tried to piece together all the little tidbits of information since this whole disaster began. He had to go back to the most painful time in his life. He knew that had he just a bit more faith in Sanem they wouldn't be where they were today. Every fiber of his being revolted against the images that flashed through his mind. Sanem with her hands on his chest, her legs bare and the bottom of her ass cheeks exposed as the man's hands held her by the waist. Sanem in white shorts and a tank top in the park up against a park bench once again with the man looming over her like a cloud while his hand reached out to either stroke her hair or cheek. Then the image that had him in knots. A picture of a check made out to Sanem Aydin and signed by his father. It was engraved in his mind. At the time it pointed to her working against him. At the time he had felt like he'd been sucker punched in the gut. Could she have bewitched him and snared him in when whom she really wanted was his cousin Yigit? That had been the torturous question he asked himself over and over then. At first, he had refused to believe it but the pictures and the check had all but sealed the case against her. He had felt like he was drowning and so he drowned himself in liquor and set about to destroy his hut on the night that would have been their honeymoon. When she found him he was so drunk he felt ready to take on everyone and even though he felt the betrayal in his bones his love for her overcame his senses. His anger turned to desire for her and it consumed his anger pushing him to possess her in every way. He made love to her all night and when the morning came he decided that he would get to the bottom of it all. She had refuted all the allegations against her and divulged things he hadn't known. He was conflicted at learning of her dealings with his father. He wanted so desperately to believe her, trust her like he had before all the innuendos and proofs had been tossed in his face. At that time he and his father were barely on speaking terms. He loved her and yet felt betrayed by her willingness to conceal so much from him. He remembered the day, in the early morning hours as he answered a knock at his door. He wished he never had. He was given a folder which he had to sign for. He stood just outside the door of the hut feeling his jaw set like cement while his belly churned with the liquor and the rage that were building inside him. He opened the folder but somehow he knew what he would find. In it were copies of canceled checks made out to her, forms, and legal paperwork giving her authority to move money from one account to another. Yet another document was a copy of a real estate purchase in her name in Ankara. His eyes scanned the documents and everywhere they landed he saw his father's name as well. The last paper was a document that requested a meeting with the board, there would be a selling of stock and Yigit had been notified first. Her signature was at the bottom of the letter and a copy was sent to his father. Everything pointed to her colluding with his father to take over the company, by either bringing in another investor like Yigit, which his father knew he wouldn't approve, or making her a shareholder which meant someone would be selling theirs. At the time he felt the betrayal in his very blood. Then he wondered how he could have been so wrong about her. He had stood outside the hut, holding in his hands everything he needed to know about the woman he had just made love to. The woman he had planned on making his wife and partner in all things. He thought that she had lied and manipulated him, learned about his business dealings, and then plotted against him with his own father to achieve her goal. The final straw was that she had also given herself to the man he disliked most. He felt his blood boil even now as he remembered those emotions. But what happened next made him ashamed of himself now even more than back then. Knowing all he did he stormed back into the room only to find her asleep and nearly naked except for the sheets that covered her bottom. He walked over to wake her as his mind could only see the pictures of her and Yigit together. How could she do this to him? He had wanted to take revenge and yell and scream at her, demean her, and insult her but instead, he slipped off his boxers and got into the bed pulling her to him as his hands explored her body waking her only to then make her his once more. His kisses were desperate and his touch even more urgent and less delicate. When she moaned in pleasure he doubled his efforts and flipped her over taking her from behind. He couldn't get enough of her nor could he get rid of the images of her and Yigit and so he replaced them with images of him and her as he pumped into her and made her scream out his name. When he exploded inside of her he held her tight and rocked them both as he kissed her neck and back not wanting to part with her. She must have sensed something because she turned away from him and then toward him so that they were face to face. He watched her carefully looking for that telltale sign of her duplicity that he  had missed. Yet all he saw was a woman who looked like she was in love with the man before her. She reached up and kissed him and soon he was making love to her once more with a desperation that made him feel somehow responsible for her. When they collapsed into each other's arms neither spoke. He waited until her breathing was slow and even before he got out of bed. He had decided then and there that her punishment would be explaining to their families what she had done and who she really was. He would have none of it. He might still love her and want her but he could never trust her again. As he walked by her sleeping form once more he felt an alarming sense of guilt for what he was about to do. Her parents might not know what she really was behind the angelic smile, so when she had to face the music alone they would be humiliated. She would be the one to pay the price for his leaving her at the altar and now alone. Even if she never came clean with them she would have to carry the burden of his leaving her that way. In a culture of her upbringing that would disgrace her family but he didn't care about that then. Had he only known what it would end up costing them. He had felt shamed by her actions and so he would let her pay the price. He had turned and left and willed himself to not look back. By the time he was on a plane out of Istanbul he was once again chasing oblivion with each glass of whiskey he drank. Nothing would get her face out of his mind. Nothing ever could. As he sat and relived those horrid moments his mind went back to her and he quickly rose out of the chair and made his way back to the woman he loved with his whole being. When he opened the door carefully and walked in he released the breath in his lungs he hadn't realized he was still holding. She still slept and for that he was grateful. He quickly changed and got in beside her, moving to the center where she was and wrapping his arms around her. Come what may he would clear his name, and in the process rebuild his life with her. He kissed the top of her head and whispered "I promise you that everything we were meant to live, we will live doubly so. I will never leave you again. Only death will take me from you".
