The morning sun was bright and felt good across his skin. He stood on the deck of their backyard and scanned over the large and impressive area. He had always been a man that enjoyed nature and the large property would afford him plenty of room to build Sanem a garden for both vegetable and flowers. He might even build a fire pit with a built in grill and maybe, if they were fortunate enough; a playground for the children they would have. He involuntarily shivered as a dark thought entered his mind. What if they couldn't have children? What if Sanems miscarriage had caused irreversible trauma to her reproductive system. She had been warned that there was a possibility of that. When she had told him, she had said it calmly without much expression in her voice. At the time he thought it was because she was trying to spare him any more hurt. Self inflicted but deserving guilt for his role in the loss. Now however, his mind swirled with negative thoughts. What if she was fearful of that news, more so than she allowed him to see. What if she new more than she was admitting to. He would never forgive himself if that were the case. He knew from the moment they met just how fond of children she was and when he proposed to her, in those first few days, gushing with excitement and the making of plans, she shared that she had always wanted four children, perhaps even more. He wanted what she wanted and readily agreed with her,  but in his heart he too wanted a family. One much like the one he remembered when he was a child. Now he was afraid to want that with all his heart. He was afraid for her and for him and what that might mean to their future. His love for her was unwavering and he would never make the same mistake again but what would that do to her? Would the inability to bring a child into their lives build resentment within her.? Would it kill her love for him? He would deserve her disdain if that were the case but he knew he would never survive it. Again his body shivered as if a cold hand had touched his skin and when his cell phone rang he visibly jumped. To say he was on edge was an understatement. He looked at the screen to see his sister's name before he took the call. "Abla, Gunaydin.... How are you?....." Leylas voice was quiet and rough but he heard her loud and clear. "Can it's mom.... You need to go to the hospital right now. We're about to leave as well. Mevkibe will stay with the baby. The nurse said she took a turn for the worse and that there is little time left. Dad is not answering. They won't allow anyone in but her children and dad so Emre will wait in the lobby downstairs. I called and called dad ....but ...". Can felt as if though the air in his lungs were not enough to take a deep breath. "I'll leave now. I'm about half an hour out. I'll call Metin to get a hold of dad. It'll be alright Abla, hang in there. I'm coming". He hung up and went back inside. His brain clearly understood that he might loose his mother today but his heart couldn't grasp it just yet. He felt scared, like he had when he had gotten lost in the woods as a small child before she found him. He wanted so much to wrap his arms around her once more and see the smile that used to be on her face. He didn't care about their past now. He didn't care about what had broken up their family. She had suffered silently because of some horrible secret he still didn't quite understand but he couldn't judge her for actions she took in order to protect those she loved. He understood all too well now. He loved someone more than himself. He would do anything for Sanem. He walked into the bedroom and saw the love of his life sleeping peacefully. He turned and entered the bathroom, he didn't have much time.

Yigit listened to the call and smiled. Things were moving along as he wanted. Now to make a call to Sanem.

Sanem felt Can rise from the bed but the warmth of the blankets felt all too cozy for her to get up. Another five minutes and she would get up and make them both breakfast. She felt better than she had the day before and well they needed their nourishment after last night. She smiled to herself and nodded off to sleep only to be awakened by her phone buzzing. She picked it up and looked at the screen but didn't recognize the number. She hesitated before declining the call. She wasn't interested in anything right now but a few more minutes of sleep. When the phone rang again her eyes opened slowly and she blew air out of her pursed lips in annoyance. This time she didn't bother to look at the screen and simply answered the call. "Alloo" she said. "Is this Sanem Aydin?"... a woman's voice spoke with a slight accent. "This is she, whose calling?" When the woman didn't answer she replied "alloo... this is a private number so if...." The woman's voice came loud and clear "Ms. Aydin, this is very important please listen carefully. I have information on who killed Ginevra and how Mr. Divit is being framed. I can give you this information but you will need to meet me within two hours at the train station. It's not safe for me here anymore." Sanem felt every hair on her body stand on end. "What are you saying? Why haven't you come forward...Who is this?" Sanem sat upright in the bed as if her body were electrified. "Please listen carefully. You have two hours or I'll be gone. Come alone. If I see you with anyone else you won't hear from me ever again. This is dangerous for me. Oh and Ms. Aydin, be prepared to have money dispursed into my account. The sum won't be small".  Sanem anxiously said "how will I know you? What is your name?". The woman responded "I'll know you". And with that she hung up. Sanem felt chilled as she stared at the phone. She heard Can as he walked on the wooden floors coming toward the room and quickly laid back down acting as if though she were asleep. She needed to think fast. What was she to do. When he went into the bathroom she sat up and texted Osman. "Osman, this is urgent. Please meet me at the coffee shop just south of the train station. You remember the one where we would meet before you left for school. Don't wear anything loud and wear your sunglasses and a hat. I'll be there within the hour. Osman-don't tell anyone-especially not Can or Emre. This could clear Can from all the accusations against him. 😘 Sanem." She swung her feet off the bed and got up quickly reaching for her robe as she was naked. She felt the same dizziness sweep over her but the adrenaline rushing through her veins soon overcompensated for it.  She needed an excuse to leave but just as she tied the sash of her robe the bathroom door opened  and Can walked out fully dressed. "Can? Gunaydin....are you leaving somewhere my love?".
