In a bout of boredom, Edmund absentmindedly twirled his torch by its handle, the repetitive motion a mere distraction from his wandering thoughts.

"You'll end up dropping it if you keep that up," I cautioned, seated on the ground opposite him, observing as he leaned against the battlement.

A smug smile played on his lips as he glanced in my direction. Ignoring my warning, he spun the torch a bit faster, a mischievous glint in his eye.

The smug expression on his face faded abruptly as the torch unexpectedly slipped from his grasp. Reacting swiftly, I stood up from my seat and joined him at the edge, peering down below to where his torch had fallen, both of us observing the spot where it now lay.

"You're an idiot!" I whispered sharply at him, unable to conceal my frustration. "I warned you, didn't I?"

"I didn't mean to drop it!" he replied in a hushed tone, a mixture of regret and defense in his whispered response.

"Well, you certainly did, didn't you?" I sighed in exasperation, shooting a glare at him before swiftly making my way out of the tower. He followed behind as we descended the stairs, nearing the window that led closer to the ground where his fallen torch awaited retrieval.

Unfortunately, a Telmarine guard had already discovered Edmund's torch, retrieving it from the ground and inspecting it closely. The sudden illumination of the area, indicated by the lights turning on, posed a grave problem as it inadvertently signaled the Narnians waiting outside the gate.

Suddenly, a bell echoed throughout the surroundings, prompting Edmund and me to exchange worried and confused glances. The unexpected sound added to the tension and uncertainty of the situation, hinting at an unforeseen complication in our carefully laid plans.

Without a moment's hesitation, Edmund leaped from the window, catching the Telmarine guard off guard with a swift ambush. Startled by his sudden action, I sighed deeply before following suit, jumping down right after him.

As I conjured a crystalline ice sword in my hands, ready to assist Edmund in the skirmish, another Telmarine, previously unnoticed, suddenly lunged at me, catching me off guard. I was tackled to the ground, the impact causing the sword to slip from my grasp and fly away, leaving me momentarily disarmed in the struggle.

"Cora!" I heard Edmund's urgent yell amidst the chaos. I turned to see him, pinned against the battlement, locked in a struggle with the Telmarine who aggressively pressed his sword against Ed's defenses, their blades clashing in a tense battle for control.

"Now, Ed! Now!" Peter's urgent voice echoed from below. "Signal the troops!"

"I'm a bit busy, Pete!" Edmund exclaimed, still engaged in the struggle.

Gasping for air, my breaths strained under the Telmarine's tightening grip around my neck, suffocating my airways. Desperate for release, I instinctively grasped the Telmarine's hand, channeling an icy force that caused him to cry out in pain, releasing his hold and recoiling.
