-Emotional Strife in Combat-
"You know, when we bet on who's the most skillful with swords here in Narnia, I didn't quite anticipate this," Edmund remarked, a hint of amusement lacing his tone, as they circled each other, maintaining a distance.
"Just silence that tongue of yours," Seraphina retorted sharply before launching an attack with her dual swords against the brunette Pevensie. However, he deftly blocked her strikes with ease, wielding two swords of his own in a display of matched skill and prowess.
Locked in a fierce clash of swords, their gazes met amidst the X-shaped intersection of their blades.
The intensity of their confrontation seemed to trigger a familiar feeling within Sera as she stared into the boy's eyes. Yet, despite the resurgence of that emotion, she quickly dismissed it, channeling her focus into pushing him away with all her might.
"Come on, Cora, I know you're still in there," Edmund's tone took on a more serious note, aiming to reach the person behind the facade. Sera scoffed at his words, dismissing his attempt, and lunged forward, launching another aggressive attack toward him.
The sound of their swords meeting echoed through the air, a testament to their skill and determination.
With focused intent, Edmund countered Seraphina's attacks, meeting each strike with practiced precision. Meanwhile, the girl fought with ferocity, her movements fluid yet forceful as she sought openings in his defense.
Their eyes remained fixed on each other, a silent battle of wills and emotions hidden behind the intensity of their duel. Each maneuver spoke volumes about their training, expertise, and the unspoken emotions brewing beneath the surface.
Their swords clashed in a symphony of steel and ice, the clash echoing in the charged atmosphere. Neither combatant showed any intention of yielding, their determination evident in every calculated move. Beyond the physical duel, their clash seemed to mirror an internal struggle, an unspoken conflict between past connections and the present confrontation. Each strike was laden with a weighty subtext, a battle not solely fought with weapons, but with conflicting emotions and unresolved history.
Sera thrust her sword forward towards the brunette Pevensie, who deftly sidestepped the attack, gracefully evading the blade. Swiftly, he seized her arm and expertly maneuvered behind her, pinning her with her arm restrained behind her back. Ed held her firmly, his chest against her back.
Leaning in close, he whispered in her ear, "A bit sluggish, aren't we?" Sera tensed momentarily, caught off guard by his proximity.
"Too slow," he continued, his breath teasingly grazing her ear. Yet, as Sera turned her head slightly toward the boy, their faces mere inches apart, Ed found himself entranced by her gaze.
Lost in her eyes, he felt a pang of familiarity, recognizing the same captivating eyes he had fallen for years ago. They held an emptiness now, a stark contrast to the warmth they once exuded, yet they still held the power to captivate him.
