-Reunion and Relief-
The cessation of the conflict between the Telmarines and Narnians marked the end of a long and tumultuous battle.
With the surrender of the Telmarines, the hostilities came to a close. Lord Sopespian, a significant figure among the Telmarines, met his demise when swallowed by the water, symbolizing the conclusion of his role in the conflict.
Lucy quickly departed from Aslan's side upon spotting Edmund carrying the wounded girl he loved in his arms, making their way through the river.
Edmund carefully placed her body on the ground, holding back tears as he observed her. Lucy knelt beside the girl, swiftly pulling out her cordial.
Worry evident in their eyes, Peter and Susan glanced at each other. They joined Lucy in kneeling beside Cora's body. Meanwhile, Edmund, overcome with concern, knelt at the top of her head, cradling it gently in his lap. The gravity of the situation hung heavy in the air.
How ironic isn't it?
As the younger Pevensies administered the Fire-Flower juice, anticipation filled the air, yet Cora remained motionless, unresponsive to the remedy.
Edmund, overwhelmed with emotion, finally let his tears stream down his cheeks, dampening his rosy, freckled skin. He leaned forward, gently resting his forehead against hers, her eyes still closed.
"I've only just got you back," his voice quivered, breaking with emotion. "Please don't leave me again." His heartfelt plea echoed through the air, expressing the depth of his desperation and longing for her to remain by his side.
"Cora, please," Peter finally spoke up, his voice also breaking as the girl remained unresponsive for too long, the wait becoming unbearable. The desperation in his plea mirrored Edmund's, a collective yearning for her to awaken from her slumber.
The sudden gasp followed by coughing brought immediate relief to the Pevensie siblings, prompting a collective laugh of relief. Cora, then, startled them all as she sat up on the ground, her presence sparking joy in their hearts.
Without hesitation, the three Pevensies enveloped Cora in a tight, overwhelming hug, expressing their immense relief and happiness at her revival. The moment was filled with shared relief and an overwhelming sense of reunion.
As the Pevensies pulled away, Cora found herself immediately embraced in another tight hug by the brunette Pevensie, his worry evident in his sigh.
"Don't you ever scare me like that," he expressed with a relieved yet admonishing tone. The girl reciprocated the hug, acknowledging his concern, and let out a weak chuckle before nodding in agreement. The moment was filled with a mix of emotions—relief, affection, and a shared understanding of the scare they had all just experienced.
As the two pulled away, Cora met Caspian's gaze, finding a shared sense of relief in his smile.
Despite not being particularly close, she responded with a smile of her own, followed by a nod, acknowledging the unspoken understanding between them.
