Not far from my position, I witnessed Peter tumbling from the unicorn he was astride as the dwarf took aim and fired.

"Peter!" I called out, rushing to his side. Oreius then thundered toward a host of Jadis' allies, despite Peter's pleas for him to halt, the centaur paid no heed.

We could only watch in despair as the centaur charged headlong into the enemy, a realization dawning upon me of who he was targeting.

"No," I whispered, before a scream tore from my throat, "Stop!"

But it was too late, the centaur had been turned to stone, his brave attempt to defeat my so-called mother ending in vain.

Peter and I pressed forward, cutting down those who dared to block our way.

Not far from us, two griffins attempted to attack Jadis. Sadly, their efforts fell short. She managed to stab one of the griffins, turning the other to stone. The stony griffin met a devastating fate, shattering into countless pieces upon impact with the rock.

I watched in horror as the scene unfolded before us. Suddenly, Peter exclaimed his brother's name.

"Edmund! There are too many!" he urgently warned. I furrowed my brows, turning around to see the brunette Pevensie engaged in battle as well.

"Get out of here!" Peter ordered. "Get Cora and the girls home!" His command left me in shock.

"Are you bloody out of your mind, Pete?" I shouted through the chaos. "I’m not leaving you here, not now, not ever!"

However, Peter gave no reply; he was already locked in combat with a towering minotaur.

But before I could react, another minotaur tackled me to the ground. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Edmund being pulled away by the beaver, obeying Peter's command.

Despite the minotaur's size, I managed to take it down swiftly. When I stood up, I noticed that Edmund was no longer there; only the beaver remained.

Scanning the area frantically, I spotted Edmund heading towards Jadis.

"No, no, no," I whispered repeatedly, swiftly dealing with any obstacle that came my way as I attempted to reach him.

After defeating another enemy, I caught sight of a sudden light blue glow emanating from Jadis' wand. Edmund broke it in the middle with his sword.

Not far from me, Peter witnessed the scene unfold, his expression mirroring my horror.

As Jadis disarmed Edmund, a deep ache filled my heart, and I felt a sudden numbness consume me as she thrust her weapon into him.

For a moment, the world around me seemed to stop. The clash of steel, the cries of battle—all of it faded into a distant hum.

My eyes were fixed only on Edmund, disbelief clouding my mind as though this could not truly be happening. It felt as if time itself betrayed me, forcing me to watch every heartbeat of his suffering stretch into an eternity.
