Cordelia’s world had once been a haven of her mother’s love, a small, cozy home where life felt safe. But that peace was torn apart when the distant echoes of war shattered everything they knew. Bombs rumbled far off, their deafening roar shaking the ground beneath them.

Fear gripped their hearts as Cordelia and her mother huddled in a tiny shelter, holding on to each other while the world outside crumbled under the weight of chaos.

When the war eventually ceased, Cordelia’s mother made a heart-wrenching decision. They stood in the middle of a crowded train station, surrounded by faces etched with the scars of conflict. As Cordelia looked into her mother’s eyes, she saw a mix of love, sorrow, and steely resolve. Her mother fought back tears, her voice trembling as she spoke her last words.

“Cora, my love… I have to send you away, to keep you safe,” she whispered, barely audible over the noise of the bustling crowd.

"What about you, Mum?" Cordelia's voice quivered. "Aren't you coming with me?"

Her mum's smile held sorrow as she gently shook her head. "No, but you'll return to me someday after the war, alright?"

Cordelia placed her trust in her mum's words, yet her heart felt heavy as she bid tearful goodbyes, her small hand tightly gripping her mum's until the bustling crowd forced them apart.

"I love you, Mum," she managed to say before being ushered onto the train.

All the children hurried to the window, craning their necks for one last glimpse of their parents, waving their farewells.

Cordelia did the same, her eyes scanning the crowd until she spotted her mum. She lifted her hand in a small, trembling wave, trying to send all her love and longing across the distance, reflecting the tears she saw in her mother’s eyes.

She continued waving until the train began to move, the crowd vanishing from sight. With a sigh, she reluctantly joined other children who had shifted away from the window to find an unoccupied compartment.

After a moment's search, Cordelia was unlucky not to find an empty compartment. Instead, she decided to accompany a group of random children rather than stand-alone.

Navigating her way to the train compartment, Cordelia's eyes met those of four unfamiliar siblings. Their presence felt like a quiet beacon of hope, pulling her in. Each carried a distinct presence.

Peter, noble and protective; Susan, gentle and wise; Edmund, resilient and curious; and Lucy, innocent and full of imagination.

Little did Cordelia know that meeting the Pevensie siblings would mark the beginning of an extraordinary journey. As the train carried them forward, fate quietly wove their lives together, binding them to a destiny far beyond anything they could have imagined.
