-Escape and Encounter-
It transpired that Eustace was the one who let out a piercing scream as the man brandished a knife against his neck, swiftly closing the door behind them.
"Unless you want to hear this one squeal like a girl again," he remarked, "I'd advise you to relinquish your weapons."
"Like a girl?" Eustace retorted, visibly affronted.
"Now!" the man barked, compelling us to reluctantly surrender our weapons, mine dissipating into a mist.
"Eustace," Edmund murmured beside me. Despite his vexation towards his cousin, concern for his safety lingered in his voice.
"Put them in irons," the man commanded his cohorts as we struggled against their hold, attempting to break free.
"And to whom might this blade belong?" he inquired, causing us to pause our resistance, turning to find him holding the small sword I had given to Eustace.
In the tense silence, the man pressed the blade firmer against the boy's neck, prompting a distressed whimper to escape from Eustace.
"It was mine!" my voice reverberated through the room, and the man grinned, revealing his unsightly teeth.
"Is this yours?" he persisted, prompting me to roll my eyes in exasperation.
"Well, I wouldn't claim 'It was mine' if it wasn't, would I?" I retorted, but he chuckled.
"Feisty, I admire that," he remarked before gesturing to his cohorts.
"Take these two to the market," he declared, indicating Eustace and Lucy, then gestured toward Caspian and Ed, commanding his men to escort them to the dungeons before fixing his gaze on me.
"As for this one..." He paused briefly. "Take her to my special chamber."
"No, leave her alone!" Ed's scream filled the air as I struggled against the two men.
I swiftly delivered a knee strike to a particularly sensitive area before a sword materialized in my hand, aimed at them. There were now five of them surrounding me.
"You won't touch me," I warned firmly, noticing them take a step back as I locked eyes with them, a mix of determination and defiance in my gaze.
Fear flickered in their eyes, but the man swiftly regained control.
"Lower your weapon," he commanded, "or I'll end this boy's life."
I glared at him, gritting my teeth. Reluctantly, my sword dissipated into mist, and the men promptly closed in, clasping an iron grip around my wrist.
"Take her to the assigned room," he grinned devilishly, and the man started to drag me away, but I resisted fiercely.
"Cora! No, don't you dare harm her!" Ed's exclamation was followed by Caspian's urgent plea.
