Chapter 14

Then it hit me. Caleb has been so happy for a while.

"Caleb." I said.

"Huh?" He said looking up with his mouth full.

"Why have you been so...."
I said trailing off.

"Happy?" He said finishing my sentence.

"Yea." I said stuffing more pancakes in my mouth.

"Well I wanted to wait to tell you but, my mom got these tickets to New York and she's been there a millon times do she gave them to me." He said smiling.

"Caleb! That is so great for you." I said punching his shoulder.

"Well the thing is I have two tickets but, I don't think I have anyone to take." He smirked.

"No way! Your serious?"

He nodded. I side hugged him and finished my pancake quickly.

"You love me right?" He said smirking.

"Trust me Cupcake its gonna take way more than that for me to love that face." I said smirking back.

"Fine then be stubborn." He said smirking.

"I mean when are we going? For how long?" I asked.

"We will be there for 2 weeks and we are leaving next weekend." He said eating more pancakes.

"Caleb what about soccer." I said looking down.

Of course! My one dumb thing I do in my life ruins this opportunity.

"Got it! My aunt works for the soccer team. I can just work something out with her." He said.

"That's a great idea I'm gonna go and pack right now!" I exclaimed.

"But it's next week we're leaving?" He questioned.

"I know." I said smirking.

I ran over to my house and right inside.

"Where have you been?" Stephanie asked cutting red peppers.

"Ava's house." I said getting a coke from the fridge and sipping it.

"Without telling me anything?" She asked.

"I'm 16 I mean what do you want from me?" I asked sipping on my coke again.

"Anyway Stephanie I was wondering Ava has these tickets to New York for 2 weeks and she asked me if I would come with her." I said hoping she would buy it.

"When would you be leaving?"

"Next weekend."

"I have a gut feeling that your not going with Ava." She said.

Then dad came in the door with a wheelchair.

The doctor that brought him explained everything. His medicines, what he can and can't eat, how much energy he will have that type of stuff. After the doctor left I was ready to ask my dad.

"Dad uh Ava has these two tickets to New york for 2 weeks and I was wondering if I could go with her. I would be leaving next weekend." I said looking at him.

"She's not going with Ava she's going with Caleb!" Stephanie blurted.

"How would you know?" I asked suspiciously.

"I called his mother." She said looking at my dad.

"Absolutely not." My dad said.

"Its New York I mean this is a once in a life time kind of thing." I said getting mad.
