an yujin › shopping mall

a/n: sorry in advance if this one isn't as good, i'm not really happy with it, but i still wanted to post it just bc /: also, happy new years (it's in 30 minutes for me but who cares) ! 🥂

TRIGGER WARNING: mention of guns & violent crowd panic resulting in bodily harm (aka trampling).

"Are you ready, honeybee?" Yujin asked you as she ruffled your hair. She was taller than you by a lot, so she was looking down at you.

You smiled in response to hers and nodded your head. "Yup! Let's go, let's go!"

You were excited because Yujin's taking you on what she called 'an unnie and maknae shopping adventure,' so it was just the two of you. She was bringing you to the shopping mall near the dorms. It was quite big, so you were nearly bouncing off of the walls with anticipation for all the cool things you could get-especially Yujin gave you a rather generous budget, although you both know you're probably not going to get things that are super expensive.

You grabbed Yujin's hand and hurried out of the dorm and to the van, where your driver was waiting for you. You and Yujin entered the vehicle and, soon, you were on your way to the mall.

Once you arrived at your destination, you squealed as you practically flew out of the van, followed by Yujin, who laughed fondly at your behavior. You're precious in all of the girls' hearts, especially hers.

Yujin took ahold of your hand before you could rush off, and proceeded to calmly lead you into the shopping mall. The building was bustling with life, loud conversations and laughter surrounding you both on all sides. You were a little put off for a moment, an odd feeling gnawing away at your gut, but you ignored it for the time being.

"Where do you want to go first, Gom-ah?" Yujin asked.

Your eyes lit up as you looked around, before they landed on a specific store. "There!" You exclaimed, pointing at it with a wide grin.

Almost two hours later, it was time to go. You and Yujin didn't buy much; between the two of you, you were only carrying six bags of items, which you don't consider a lot. Your feet are aching badly from all of the walking you did, but you're happy with how the day's bee going so far. You really enjoy spending time with your members, and you always relish in those moments, especially during promotions, since, then, you don't really get a lot of time to go out.

"Everybody, run! Run! There's a shooter!" Someone suddenly yelled. You and Yujin looked at each other and froze when you heard that.

Almost immediately, everyone around began to rush around in a frenzy towards the exit of the mall. Everybody was panicking.

"Yoonah, hold my hand!" You heard Yujin instruct you sternly, although you could see the fear in her eyes when you looked at her.

Without hesitation, you quickly grabbed her hand, and the two of you began to make your way through the crowd, moving with everyone to get out of the building as quickly as possible. Yujin's grip on you was strong. She couldn't risk you staying in this building or getting lost or hurt in any way; that was her biggest fear.

But she wasn't expecting exactly that to play out right in front of her.

Both your and Yujin's eyes widened when you felt your grips on each other's hands involuntarily loosen. A few people had managed to squeeze in between you, trying to push through to get to their destination. Eventually, you couldn't hold on any longer, and your grip on Yujin's hand completely vanished. You watched with fear-filled eyes as Yujin got pushed further and further away from you and vice versa. She was frantically calling out your name as you both began to cry.
