Panic. That was all you could feel in the moment. As soon as you opened your eyes, and back in your regular headspace, you were consumed by panic. Your members were scattered throughout your bedroom, all of them fast asleep, seeing as, upon looking out the window, it was dark outside.

All that was rushing through your mind, however, was the sole fact that your members had seen a side of you that you had always tried to hide from everyone around you. The thought was loud in your head, which was still plagued by a harsh headache. On the bright side, your fever had somehow gone down significantly.

What wasn't in your favor was the strong emotions consuming you at this very moment. You felt fear and anxiety clawing at your throat, while simultaneously grasping your heart, which seemed to grow heavier by the second. How will I be able to face them after this? What should I do? You could feel yourself spiraling down into a pit of despair and helplessness. Although the girls had clearly stated that they'd gladly take care of you, you honestly still couldn't believe it. You were still afraid after your parents’ reaction so many years ago.

You began to cry. It couldn’t be helped. You were scared and anxious, and you could tell that this was the beginning of a panic attack. Your breathing became erratic as you took in quick, shallow breaths, the loud sound filling the otherwise dead silent room.

“Oh, God,” you mumbled to yourself as you tangled your fingers in your hair. Your head began to feel light the longer you struggled to take deep breaths. You curled in on yourself and began to cry loudly.

“Shit.” You heard a voice speak up, just barely recognizing it as Yujin’s. Immediately, the leader was by your side, arm extended as if she wanted to hold you, but she paused for just a moment. “Yoonah, can you hear me?” She asked. You nodded as best you could in the midst of your panic attack. “Okay, good. Is it okay if I touch you? Are you okay with that?” She questioned once more. Again, you nodded, tears streaming down your flushed cheeks as you sobbed.

Yujin didn't waste a second as she moved closer to take a seat on your bed before pulling you into her arms. By now, the other members were up and alert, watching the scene with worried eyes. Yujin turned to them, her expression serious and her hold on you tightening ever-so-slightly. “I've got this, girls. You all go to your rooms and freshen up, and after I help Yoonah, I'll make dinner, okay?” She said quietly. Everyone nodded before shuffling out of the room, but not before shooting you one last worried glance.

You were still trying to regain control over your breathing as you shook in Yujin’s arms. Your hands came up to grasp her upper arm tightly, panic evident in your eyes as you looked up at her.

Yujin quickly jumped into action. She cupped your cheek and made sure that you kept your eyes on her. “Yoonah. Focus on my voice, can you do that?” She asked quietly. You nodded weakly as she began to speak again. “You’re okay, Yoonah, trust me. You’re safe. You’re in my arms, yeah? I need you to take some deep breaths with me and calm down, baby? Follow my breathing.”

With that, Yujin began to take slow deep breaths, her warm hand never leaving your cheek as she instructed you to copy her actions. She took deep breaths in, held them for four seconds, and then exhaled for six. She repeated those actions until you were no longer gasping for air. You were still crying quietly, however, so as soon as Yujin saw that you had calmed down a considerable amount, she removed her hand from your cheek and pulled you down to rest your head on her chest, holding you close and securely.
