You're an idol; have been for a couple years now. You became a trainee when you were thirteen, much to everyone's surprise, and now you're sixteen, just six months younger than your unnie, Hyunseo, making you the maknae of your group.

You're a member of IVE, and you and the girls have made it big in the couple of years since your debut. You're successful, and that's always been your dream. You can clearly recall days where you would ride your bike to the company building to attend training sessions, until a few months later when they moved you into the dorms. You remember the big fight you had with your parents over it. They didn't approve of your career path, and highly doubted that you could be big or leave an impact on the K-pop community; they didn't even think that you would debut. They've always been abusive with their words, but them trying to put you down for your job choice only pushed you to leave quicker.

Their discouraging words and lack of faith held you back a bit, but then you met the girls-your future members-along with some other trainees, who cheered you on and filled the hole in your heart that was meant to be occupied by your parents. Yujin and Gaeul were like your mothers. They babied you quite a bit and always made sure you and the other younger girls, like Hyunseo and another girl named Subin, were always fed, warm, and content. Wonyoung and Jiwon were good at cheering everyone up and trying to keep the energy positive no matter what, while Rei was protective over everyone and constantly fought with the company to ensure everyone's safety and good health. Hyunseo was always all over all of you, as she loves physical contact-she loved everything from simple hand holding, to hours-long cuddling sessions.

So you were pretty happy to have moved into the dorms. You've never regretted it. You've made many more positive memories and built many more strong relationships in a few months than you did within years of living with your parents.

"Earth to Jin Yoonah!"

You looked to your left and saw Rei standing next to you in the large dance studio. All of you wre supposed to be listening to instruction from your choreographer.

"Huh?" You offered Rei a puzzled look, to which she responded by gently placing her hand on your lower back.

"The instructor asked if you need her to go over it again," Rei told you.

"Oh. I'm sorry, Seonsaengnim," you apologized after turning to face the choreographer. "If it isn't too much trouble, could you please show me the move aga-"

Just as you were about to finish your question, the studio's door abruptly (and quite dramatically, if you might add) flew open with a strong force. It slammed against the wall and created a loud thump that caused everyone in the room to jump, clearly startled.

You flinched harshly. Your face paled when you all saw who was at the door: your parents, of all people. The two humans you have the least desire to see most in your life. You knew that they couldn't be up to any good.

"What are you two doing here?" You eventually questioned, breaking the silence with a rigid voice, which was laced with resentment.

Your father scowled. "Is that any way to greet your mom and dad, huh, kid? What, you- you make a few hundred dollars and you think you can slide some disrespect? Is that it, you brat?" He snapped. There was something off about him, but you couldn't put your finger on it.

Rei's eyebrows furrowed. She didn't like this man's attitude and words at all. She and the girls are well aware of your previous home life before you moved in with them, so Rei knows who that man is, but she refuses to call him your father after hearing of some of the things he's said and done to you.
