Chapter 3: Warning
Mitch walked out of class and let out and exasperated sigh. He was super tired from Scott waking him up early in the morning and he kind of wanted to skip his last two classes and just go home and take a nap, but he also didn't want to miss class. He sat down on a bench and pulled out his phone. "Shit..." He mumbled when there were three missed calls from Scott. He usually didn't call so something must be up. Before he could call him back he heard his name being called and looked up to see Scott jogging over to him. "Scott? What are you doing here? What's wrong?" Mitch asked nervously as Scott pulled him in for hug. Scott thought a moment before deciding not to tell him the truth. He didn't want to worry Mitch with news that some asshole threatened him.
"Nothing's wrong, I just wanted to see you." Scott lied pulling away from the younger man. Mitch eyed him suspiciously.
"You came all the way out here just to see me?" He asked clearly not convinced.
"Yeah babe. I...well I called you first and when you didn't answer I got a little worried so I decided to come out here on my lunch break and check up on you." Scott explained.
"I was in class so I didn't have my phone on...which you already know so what's actually going on Scott?" Mitch's tone had changed from suspicious to slightly aggravated. Scott smiled trying to be convincing.
"Nothing's going on! Sorry but I got excited to tell you I wanted to take you out tonight and I forgot about you being in class and...I don't know..." Scott said struggling to keep the lie going. Mitch looked at him carefully trying to decide if he believed the blond or not. Finally he smiled and shrugged.
"Well ok, so where are you taking me?" He asked becoming somewhat excited.
"Remember that really fancy restaurant downtown? The Diamond cafe'?" Mitch's eyes widened as he recalled people walking in with suits and fancy dresses on.
"Really? Are you sure though? It seems really fancy..."
"Of course I'm sure!" Scott laughed and playfully hit Mitch's shoulder making Mitch giggle.
"But I don't have anything to wear!" Mitch said; panic clear in his voice. Scott laughed and shook his head.
"Don't worry, I'm getting off early so by the time you get home you'll have something waiting for you." Scott smiled at the sight blush that enveloped Mitch's cheeks. "I gotta get back to work but I'll see you later." He again leaned in and embraced Mitch and as he did he noticed out of the corner of his eye a dark figure a few feet away. Whoever it was definitely was watching them. "Call me if you need anything ok?" He said then kissed his forehead before pulling away. "Love you Mitchie."
"Love you too Scottland." Mitch said smiling from ear to ear. Scott walked away from Mitch and once he was sure he was out of sight he carefully made his way back, hiding behind trees and bushes until he had a clear view of Mitch. He watched Mitch turn and walk back towards the building and then observed the figure step out from his hiding spot to follow Mitch. Scott's blood boiled as he stayed close to the figure without being seen. He wasn't quite sure of what he was going to do to the man when he got to him but he knew he had to have self control or he'd kill him in a second. He waited until Mitch went into the building before he jumped out and grabbed the man from behind, yanking him around the corner and throwing him up against the wall of the building.
"What the hell?!" The man yelled but then smirked when he realized it was Scott.
"Cliff?" Scott asked as he too realized he knew the man. "Nice to see you too Slade." Cliff said mockingly only making Scott more pissed. He had worked a job when he first started and ran into Cliff who was working the same job. Unlike with Avi they didn't just decide to work together...no it turned into an all out war between the two of them and Scott won. "So...the friends Brett was talking about were just losers like you who are all pissed that I beat them at something. Nice to know ya'll stick together." Scott said and laughed at the look on Cliff's face. Without warning Cliff shoved Scott away and took a step away from the building.
"You have no idea what will happen if you refuse his offer Slade, I wouldn't test him if I were you." He replied and Scott laughed again. He didn't wait for the guy to say anything else but grabbed Cliff's arm yanking it violently behind his back and twisting it. Cliff let out a shriek as they both heard the sound of bones breaking.
"You listen to me you spineless dick! This is a warning to Brett and anyone else that he sends. I'm not messing around and I won't hesitate to KILL anyone that comes near Mitch or me again understand?" Scott growled in Cliff's ear. Cliff whimpered and nodded silently begging Scott to let him go. "Now go back to Brett and tell him I said to get the hell out of London before I come after him." He mumbled and let Cliff go. He watched the injured man run away from him making sure he was gone before turning and walking back to his car.

Mitch walked back to class knowing full well that Scott was lying about why he came to see him. He'd been with the man long enough to know when he was keeping something from him but he was so tired of trying to get the truth out of him that Mitch often times just gave up and let Scott think he'd fooled him. He couldn't understand how after everything they've been through together Scott still couldn't be completely honest with him. Maybe the reason he came to check up on him had something to do with the dream he had? Or maybe something else happened while he was at work? The possibilities of what it could be was driving Mitch crazy and he just wanted the truth. He walked into the class and sat down still trying to figure out what Scott could be hiding. He knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate at all because of this, but he was also excited to go to the Diamond cafe'. It was the biggest, fanciest restraunt around and to top it all off, Scott was buying him something new to wear! Between being concerned, confsed, and upset about Scott's lies he was also happy and excited and nervous all at the same time! Too much for him to even think about what the professor was talking about right now.
