Chapter 4: Big Plans

Scott walked into the house and set down the bags he was carrying. He'd gone to get Mitch and himself new clothes for this dinner he'd promised Mitch and for some reason he felt exhausted, probably because of all the drama that happened today. He sighed and rubbed his forhead as he thought of what Brett could be planning. He knew the guy well and knew he wasn't one to just give up when he didn't get what he wanted, but he also knew that Brett knew him well and knew Scott didn't like to be told what to do. Maybe that was part of his plan? Bait him into a fight because everyone knows Scott won't back down. This whole thing was a huge problem for he and Mitch. After what happened with Mitch's father and that whole ordeal he thought he would be able to have a normal life, and more importantly he thought he could give Mitch a normal life. Now he had to deal with the jackass and anyone else he brought into it. He also knew he wasn't going to be able to keep this from Mitch any longer. Mitch was way too smart to fall for Scott's lies and Scott knew full well that most of the time he just went along with it because he didn't want to argue with him. Mitch was so sweet like that...but it wasn't fair to Mitch at all. He layed down on the couch and stretched out, he hadn't realized how tired he was from waking up from his nightmare. Great, now he was thinking about it again. He couldn't get his mother's frightened, tearful eyes out of his mind no matter how hard he tried. He closed his eyes trying to clear his head but it wasn't working. She was so, so angry at him for killing that dick, and so scared. His time with Mitch had taught him how to be human and he felt human but he couldn't forget his past. How many people had he killed? How many of them were innocent and he just didn't care. He killed them anyway and collected the money like a heartless, soulless monster.

"W-who are you? What d-do you want from m-me?" Scott smirked as the woman began to cry. He focussed on her eyes and how terrified they were. He loved inflicting fear in his victims and watching them try to beg him not to kill them.

"My name isn't important, what's important is why I'm here." Scott answered calmly.

"Wh-why are you here exactly?" She stuttered. Scott circled around her like a hungry lion who had cornered its prey.

"I'm here because someone wants you dead..." He snickered as her eyes widened and her face turned white. He slowly walked towards her, knife in hand as she began to back up. Her back hit the wall and she started to sob loudly, something that only made Scott's smile grow wider. It was coming, the begging he had been waiting to hear.

"P-ppleaseee don't! I h-haven't done aanything w-wrong!" She screamed through her sobs. Scott grabbed at the back of her head, grasping a handful of her hair and pulling her head back. "Nooo...please..." She begged but Scott didn't care. The nagging at the back of his skull told him he had dragged this out for too long. He did enjoy playing with his prey a little but now...it was time. He smiled evily at her and shoved the knife into her heart. She screamed and Scott stared into her hazel eyes as the life slowly left them. He pulled out the knife and watched her body slowly sink to the floor. He held up the knife and admired the blood dripping off the tip...it was mesmerizing. He ran his thumb across the blade feeling the thick liquid soak into his skin....

"Scott! Scott wake up!" Scott shot up and realized too late that Mitch was not ready for it. He attempted to grab the boy before he fell off the couch but failed. Mitch flew back and landed flat on his back.

"Mitchie! I'm sorry I didn't mean too." He said dropping off the couch and kneeling in front of an aggravated looking Mitch.

"It's ok...just...you were having another nightmare and I didn't want to watch you freaking out so I figured I should wake you up...now I know that's a bad idea." Mitch chuckled a little making Scott relax. He was afraid Mitch would be really upset but thankfully Mitch just brushed it off like the amazing guy he was. He was so patient with Scott and he really didn't deserve Mitch. He smiled and helped Mitch up, then wrapped his arms around him tightly.

"Whoa babe...are you ok?" Mitch asked as Scott leaned his head on Mitch's shoulder. Mitch knew something was off about Scott because he usually wasn't like this. When Mitch felt Scott shaking a little he started to worry. Scott was crying silently and Mitch brought his hands to the blonde's back, rubbing softly.

"Scott...please talk to me. Tell me what's going on with you? You know nothing you tell me is going to change the way I look at you, or feel about you." Mitch sighed when there was no response, but he could feel his shirt being soaked by Scott's tears. "Please babe, let me help." Mitch tried again to get Scott to open up.

"You can't." Scott finally replied through a sniffle. He pulled away from Mitch and wiped his eyes, then sat back down on the couch.

"Why not?" Mitch asked sitting next to him and placing his hand on Scott's thigh. Scott waited until he regained control of himself before looking up at Mitch.

"There's so much you don't know about me Mitch...so many things I've done that I can't forget."

"You mean your past? Like all the people you killed?" Mitch pressed. Scott nodded and looked down placing his hand on top of Mitch's.

"I know you want to help but this is just something I have to deal with myself ok?" Mitch could see Scott wasn't going to tell him any details about the dreams or his past and while he was a little angry about it, he was going to respect him and not ask anymore questions. He understood that Scott had a certain way of dealing with things like this and Mitch wasn't going to force him into anything.

"I understand I really do but...please just...don't let this consume you. I can see whatever is going on inside you is eating you up and that's not healthy. I just want you to be happy." Mitch answered. He brought his thumb to wipe away one last tear from Scott's cheek and Scott reached up and gently grabbed his hand.

"You're too good to me..." Scott sighed and Mitch laughed.

"Damn right! Now what'd you buy me?!" Mitch squealed excitedly and jumped off the couch. Scott laughed at how cute Mitch was being and walked over to the bags pulling out a pair of very expensive black pants and a silk, black button up shirt. "Oh my god Scott! These are gorgeous...holy shit how much did you pay for these??!" Mitch shrieked and took the clothes from Scott.

"You don't want to know...now get ready to go!" He laughed as Mitch jumped on him nearly knocking them both over and then ran away to change; Scott slapping his ass on the way out making Mitch giggle. Scott watched him hop away with a huge smile on his face. He loved that kid so much...he couldn't really express how much he loved him. He looked down and pulled something else out of the bag that he'd been hiding and looked at it. It was a small maroon box with a gold heart engraved on the top. He gently popped the box open to reveil a gold ring with two black diamonds on it. As he was shopping for clothes for Mitch he realized that Mitch meant more to him than life itself and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the silly boy. He smiled as he heard Mitch singing in the shower and closed the box. He was probably going to be a mess when he proposed but...hey he didn't really care. All he cared about was that Mitch would be his forever, that's all he needed. He quickly ran to the other shower to get ready for this big night, he just hoped Mitch would want to marry him even with all the lies and secrets he kept.
