Chapter 24: Giving In
Scott stood; fuming with anger as his proposal was ruined yet again by this dick. Mitch grabbed onto the taller man's arm and hid behind him afraid of what Brett was going to do. "Ok so you got me, how about you let Mitch go and we can talk." Scott said, managing to keep calm. Brett laughed and shook his head.
"Really Slade you know that's not happening." He sneered. "It amazes me how much you underestimated me." He continued walking further into the room. "I mean you ran in here alone, the great Slade...Scott...whatever, army of one thinking you'd take all of us out and save your lover? Did you honestly think you'd be able to pull that off?" He laughed.
"I'm not helping you take Kevin down, I don't care what you do to me it's not happening." Scott stated firmly. Mitch tightened his grip on Scott's arm as Brett narrowed his eyebrows.
"I'm sure Mitch told you what I was going to do to him...maybe you should re-think what you just said." Brett glanced down at Mitch who cowered further behind Scott and smirked at the boy. Scott glared and took a step towards Brett.
"Yes he did, and if you touch him again these chains won't be able to hold me back from cutting your heart out." Scott hissed. Without warning Brett's fist hit Scott in the gut and he doubled over falling to his knees. Mitch backed up as Cliff rushed in and grabbed him pulling him towards the wall.
"NOO! SCOTT HELP ME!!" Mitch screamed and kicked but he wasn't strong enough to get free.
"Get the FUCK away from him!" Scott growled and lunged at Cliff but was pulled back by Brett and another man whom Scott didn't see run into the room. They pulled Scott further away from Mitch and Brett let the other man hold Scott back as he walked over to Cliff and the hysterical Mitch.
"Noo Plleeease don't!!" Mitch pleaded but Brett only smiled. He pulled out the same knife he almost used before and grazed it over Mitch's arm. Mitch screamed as the knife slid through his skin like butter; blood now flowling freely.
"I'm going to fucking KILL you!" Scott yelled and struggled. Brett smiled and walked back over to Scott pointing the knife at his chest.
"I'm not messing around with you Slade! I gave you so many chances already...if you don't agree to help me I will kill Mitch, I will cut him up into pieces right in front of you!" Scott stared at Brett who had turned into this crazed animal all of a sudden. Just like on the phone his mood swings were out of wack. "So...what's your answer? Are you helping me?" He asked walking back over to the crying Mitch. He gently moved a piece of Mitch's hair out of his face with the tip of the knife which made Mitch flinch. "Or are we saying goodbye to little Mitchie?" He continued. He glanced back at Scott who was staring at Mitch sadly. The pause was too long for Brett's liking and he sighed in annoyance. "I guess goodbye then." He stated and brought the knife back to Mitch's arm.
"WAIT! STOP!" Scott shrieked. Brett stoped and turned back to Scott making Mitch breathe out in relief.
"What was that?" He asked; his tone mocking. Scott sighed and tried to shake the man off of him with no luck.
"I'll do it you bastard alright! Just don't hurt him...." He replied and looked down in dissapointment. Brett smiled and nodded to Cliff. He dropped Mitch and walked over to Scott, pulling out a key and unhooking the chain from his handcuffs. He grabbed a hold of Scott's other arm and he and the other man began to pull him out of the room. "It'll be ok Mitchie! Don't worry!" He yelled catching a glimpse of Mitch's tear filled eyes as he was dragged away. Brett laughed and glanced down and Mitch, putting his knife away.
"I knew he'd see it my way. See, all of this could have been avoided." He smirked at Mitch's glare and walked out shutting and locking the door behind him. Once again Mitch was left alone in the cell of a room to wonder if Scott was ok. He didn't know where they were taking him or if he was coming back. He was more scared now than ever because now he realized Scott didn't have a plan, and Scott always had a plan. How were they going to get out of here?

Scott was pulled into a big room full of computers, a sight that reminded him of Avi's basement. They pushed him towards a chair that was in front of one computer and let him go. "Sit." Brett commanded and Scott obeyed knowing that if he tried anything they would be back onto Mitch in a second.
"What are you expecting me to do exactly?" Scott asked quietly.
"I would like you to do what you do best. Find Kevin and then we can kill him." Scott glanced up at Brett and smirked.
"And why can't you find him?" He asked already knowing the answer. Brett wasn't amused by his tone and he looked like he was going to snap, Scott decided he better not push too far for Mitch's sake.
"Kevin recently moved his business and I haven't been able to figure out where he moved it to."
"You just don't know where to look." Scott mumbled.
"That's why you're here smartass. Find him." He ordered. Scott shrugged and moved closer to the computer. He would help this dick, but when he least expected it he would kill him and end all of this. All he wanted was for Mitch to be safe, to be able to go to school and become a singer, or a music teacher or whatever he wanted to become. He wanted to marry him and take care of him, to have children with him and grow old together. But would any of that be possible with people like Brett around? Brett wasn't the only person that had some personal vendetta against him, there would be more coming for him and Mitch would be caught in the crossfire. He stopped thinking and typing when Kevin's picture flashed on the screen.
"There he is." He stated as more information popped up about Kevin and his business. Brett walked over to the screen and smiled.
"Very nice, see boys this is why he's here. That took what...five minutes tops?" He laughed and patted Scott on the shoulder.
"Alright so you know where he is. You don't need me anymore." Scott stated and stood up. Once again Scott was launched to the floor this time by Brett's fist meeting his eye. He landed hard on his back but didn't have a chance to retaliate before Cliff and the other man, whos name was Blake grabbed him and pulled him up.
"I'm getting tired of your attitude. I decide what is going to happen and I say you're not done here yet. Lock him back up until we're ready to leave." Brett said and waved them away.
"You're a dead man Brett! I'm going to get out of these chains and when I do you're going to BEG me to kill you!" Scott growled as he was dragged away.

Mitch jumped up as he heard the door unlocking. Cliff and the other man threw Scott into the room laughing as they closed the door. Scott layed there for a while staring at the ceiling. His eye was beginning to swell and he sighed loudly; he was so over Brett and his stupid friends. "Babe?" Mitch asked hesitantly. Scott turned his head to look at Mitch. "Are you alright?" He asked as he slowly walked over to Scott.
"Oh yeah I'm perfect." Scott replied; sarcasm thick in his voice. Mitch sighed and layed down next to him. "How's your arm?" Scott asked and Mitch shrugged.
"Fine I suppose.." He mumbled and looked down at the gash that had finally stopped bleeding. "What are we going to do now?" He asked laying his head on Scott's shoulder. Scott nuzzled his nose into Mitch's cheek trying to make Mitch feel better.
"Don't worry Mitchie, I have a plan." He mumbled and closed his eyes to sleep.
"What plan?" Mitch asked curiously, shaking Scott's shoulder. Scott opened his eyes and smiled at the boy's sparkling eyes.
"You'll see, just don't worry about it." Scott replied and closed his eyes again. Mitch shrugged and closed his eyes. He trusted Scott with his life, but right now it didn't seem like they were going to get out of this mess.
