Chapter 9: Taken
Joey sat in bed scrolling through facebook, then glanced at the time. It was only two in the afternoon and he was bored stiff. He probably should have told Scott and Mitch he was coming so they could take time off to do stuff with him. He sighed and put his phone nack in his pocket thinking about what Scott could have meant by telling him to keep an eye on Mitch. And Mitch said there were people from Scott's past bothering them...that kind of made him nervous. He was suddenly startled by the sound of a door opening and he jumped out of bed to listen. Mitch should be in class and Scott should be at work right? He quickly put his shoes on and crept to the bedroom door poking his head out into the hallway. He heard slight whispering and knew immediately that it wasn't Scott or Mitch. "Shit..." He hissed and looked around the room for something that could be used as a weapon. He settled on the bedside lamp and yank the cord from the wall. Odds were whoever was here didn't know he was there so maybe he could surprise them and get the upper hand as he wasn't very good in fights. With the lamp raised he slowly walked out of the room and through the hallway towards the stairs trying to be as quiet as possible. He glanced around the corner as he came to the stairs and saw shadows in the living room. He sucked in a breath and carefully tiptoed down the stairs preparing himself to hit the first thing he saw. As soon as he got to the bottom of the stair he turned and rushed into the living room swinging the lamp at the first body he saw, however the man ducked and backed up. Joey raised the lamp ready to swing again but before he could make a move an arm snaked around his neck from behind and he was pulled back. The lamp shattered into pieces as it hit the floor and Joey struggled against the strong arm that held him.
"Well who are you? Someone else Slade's fucking?" The man said and then chuckled as he walked forward from the living room. Joey stayed silent and glared at the man. He walked closer to them and gave Joey a cheeky grin. "Man, he sure can pick em' can't he..." He said reaching up to touch Joey's face; Joey immediately shrinking away from him.
"What should we do with him boss?" The man holding Joey asked and tightened his grip as Joey struggled against him.
"Bring him. Mitch isn't here which means he's at school. The more leverage we have on Slade the better this will be." He stated and a minute later Joey was being dragged outside and thrown into the back of a dark van.

Mitch walked through the hallway of school after his third class towards the main doors. He just wasn't in the mood to go to class today and he kind of felt bad about leaving Joey home alone so he decided to skip his last two classes and just go home. He walked outside and pulled out his phone looking to see if Scott had texted him or tried to call him, but of course there was nothing. He was worried about him but he was also still pissed that he had been keeping secrets again. It's like he didn't think Mitch could handle the truth, like he thought he was too young to know. That's the one thing Mitch hated the most was when people still treated him like a child. He was twenty years old now, not some stupid kid and he could handle himself. He was scrolling through the music on his phone when out of nowhere he was grabbed and dragged behind the building. The man shoved him up against the wall and pinned him easily. "Mitchell Grassi, Brett would like to extend a warm welcome to his place." The guy said. Mitch eyed him and knew that struggling would be pointless as he was obviously too strong for Mitch, so instead of struggling he did what he always does, run his mouth.
"Oh that's sweet of him but I already have plans." He smirked as he saw the anger flash in the man's eyes.
"That's too bad..." The guy said deciding to play along.
"Yeah sad day...so if you'd be a peach and let me go...."
"You got a smart mouth kid you know that?" The guy cut Mitch off leaning in so he was in Mitch's face. Mitch flinched at the man's bad breath and then glared at him.
"Why does everyone call me a kid? I'm NOT a fucking child!" Mitch yelled and brought his knee to the mans groin as hard as he could. The guy cried out and dropped to the ground and Mitch kicked him in the face before dropping his bag and taking off. He didn't look back, only ran which was something he learned to do back when he and Scott were being chased all over the U.S. Despite being lanky and awkward Mitch was quite fast and was a few blocks away from the school in no time. He stopped to catch his breath and looked behind him happy to see the goon hadn't followed him. He reached into his pocket to pull out his phone and growled when he couldn't find it. "Oh of COURSE I would fucking drop it..." He grumbled. He looked around for a pay phone and saw one to his right. He ran over to it but before he could open it a dark van screeched to a halt behind him and before he knew it he was being pulled inside. "Get the hell off me! Help! Someone hel...." He screamed as a big man straddled his waist and a rough hand was clamped over his mouth. He felt the familiar coldness of a gun against his skin.
"Shut up or I'll kill you now understand?" The man ordered and Mitch instantly stopped yelling and struggling. The hand was removed and he was flipped over onto his stomach while the man grabbed his hands and ripped them violently behind his back. As his wrists were being taped he tried to look around to see if he could get a good look at the other men in the van but at the angle he was in it was too hard, and to dark for him to see much. Once the man was satisfied he had taped him enough he dragged Mitch to the back of the van and smiled. "Be a good boy now." He said and made his way back to the front. Mitch rolled his eyes and moved his hands and feet around testing how tight the tape was...which just hapened to be very tight. That's when he heard a slight whimper from behind him and after quite a struggle was finally able to turn around. There lay Joey, bound and gagged in the same fasion as he was looking scared. Mitch moved closer to him and placed his forehead against Joey's trying to show him some sort of comfort. He had no idea what these men wanted from Scott but they were going to a lot of trouble to get him to agree to whatever they wanted him to do. Mitch knew he should be scared to death right now but he wasn't. He knew what Scott was capeable of and now that these guys were messing with him, Scott was going to come after them. That would definitely end badly for all of them, especially with how Scott has been lately. He'd been scaring Mitch a little with his behavior and Mitch knew this would make him snap back into who he used to be. A part of Mitch wanted Scott to tear all of them apart but then the other part was afraid that if Scott did snap, he might not come back from it. Whatever the outcome Mitch knew Scott wouldn't let anything happen to him...hopefully he'd be able to stay human through all of this.
