"Do you love harvesting flowers, Iris?" Elizabeth asked while she and mom were busy cutting the stems of the flowers they have harvested at the garden.
"Not really, but I like peonies." I answered back.
"Really? Peonies smell good doesn't it?"
I nodded. "Yeah, it does."
My phone chimed.
I received a text message from Camille.
"Mom, I gotta go. My friends are waiting for me outside the village." I kissed her cheek.
"Okay, just don't be home late." Mom answered back.
I took my white tote bag on the sofa and I dashed out of the house. It was a sunny day so I feel like wearing a cool basic clothing.
While walking on the pavement, I inserted my AirPods on my ears as I listen to a playlist I created before I leave the house.
I quickly saw Sophie waving at me so I hurriedly cross the street and greeted them.
"Hi guys,"
Camille wanted to do a study date and she accompanied Sophie.
"Hey, Iris babe." Camille greeted.
"Hop in," Sophie added.
Sophie was the one driving, Camille's sitting on the passenger side, while I sit at the back.
"Have you guys finished reading all the lessons?" Camille asked.
"I haven't started anything, how about you, Iris?" Sophie asked.
I raise my head. "I've done a few readings but still not enough."
"I know right? Midterms getting near and I'm freaking out." Camille sighed. "I entered Pharmacy cause I thought there will be no calculations but here I am, a first year student getting punched in the face by calculations and complicated computations."
Sophie and I laughed hearing Camille's comment.
"Of course there will be calculations, Cam. How can you solve for the milliliters and grams if there is no calculation?" Sophie said.
"Well, I thought it was just basic. But it's complicated." Camille acted like she was crying.
"Welcome to Pharmacy, I think?" I chuckled.
"I don't feel welcome at all." Camille answered back laughing.
We found a nice coffee shop with less people. We place our things on top of the table while we take our orders.
"I'd like to have a venti java chip," I ordered.
"Name, miss?"
"Iris," I answered.
We started taking our notes and mind our own business so that we can focus.
Papers, pens, highlighters, and several cups of coffee were on top of our table. We went there ten in the morning and its already five in the afternoon and we are still here in our table, stressing and overthinking stuffs.
"Wait, before we finally wrap things up.. how can you solve this?"
"You can use a ratio proportion for this one so that you can easily cross out the same units." I showed Camille the process in solving the problem she asked.
"Thanks, Iris. You're the best!" She then hugged me.
We were already fixing our things when I received a message from mom.
