Chapter 8

"SURPRISE!"

I woke up to the scream of Jillian.

"I'm still sleepy," I answered back and cover myself with the duvet. Then I realized... Jillian's here?!

"Jillian?!" I hoisted myself up and when I saw her right in front of my eyes. I quickly stood up and jumped on the bed to give her a hug. "What are you doing in here? Don't you have class?"

Jillian laughed. "Girl, it's Saturday."

I hugged her again. "Oh my gosh, I miss you!"

"Well, someone's waiting for you downstairs." Jillian winked.

My mouth formed into an 'O' when I realized who she was referring to. I hurriedly went downstairs and there I saw him at the kitchen with mom.

"BENNY!!" I exclaimed.

I ran towards him and he laughs as he open his arms wide to welcome me. We shared a hug and after it, I move one step backwards to face him.

"Oh my gosh, you're here!" My voice raised up. "I miss you!"

"I miss you, too.. Iris." He then poked the tip of my nose. "I told you, I'll come visit you when I have time."

Benny then took something at the counter and it was a bouquet of pink peonies.

"Here, a bouquet of pink garlics." He teased.

Pink peonies are my favorite. I grinned as I took the pink peonies from Benjamin.

"Well, thank you.. Benny."

They were preparing breakfast so I head back to my room to have a bath and change something decent to wear. I was holding the bouquet of pink peonies Benny gave me when I saw an empty vase on top of my study table so I took it and put water mid level. I returned the vase on top of the table and as I remove the string holding the pink peonies, I took a sit on my swivel chair to arrange properly the peonies.

I smiled seeing the pink peonies. It's cute and they really look like garlics. I move the vase near the window so that a ray from the sun can touch the peonies.

I was about to stand up but when I looked at my window, Sebastian was already staring at me as he pulls his blinds up.

I panicked and went down the chair. My left knee hit one of the wheels of the swivel chair the reason why my left knee turned red.

"Why are you on the floor?" Jayse asked when he entered my room. "Are you okay?"

I quickly stood up. "Yeah, I'm fine." I acted like I was dusting off dirt on my shirt.

"Mom told me to tell you that breakfast is ready at ten." Jayse was walking towards the door but he was looking back at me confused as to why I was kneeling on the floor.

I peeked and rested my chin on top of the table to see if Sebastian is still there. No sign of him. I dashed out going to the bathroom to take a bath and get changed.

As I went downstairs, they were all waiting for me.

"Sorry, I was late." I took a seat beside Benjamin.

Mom say grace and after it, we started eating breakfast. Mom was busy talking with Jillian, while Jayse is busy minding his food.

"You okay?" Benny asked me.

I looked at him. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Have you been around Summerside, Iris?" Jillian asked.

To be honest, I haven't explored Summerside as soon I got here. I got busy traveling from the university to house, house to university that I forgot to explore the city.
