Chapter 19

"Where's your boyfriend? I thought he'll fetch you after your shift?" Benjamin asks as he opens the door of his car for me.

"I don't know, he's M.I.A. since morning." I answered back.

I pouted my lips as I look outside the window. I've been messaging Sebastian since morning and the only reply I got from him was 'Okay.'

He's such a mood killer.

He told me that we'd spent our remaining summer days with each other but he's nowhere to be found. I turn off my phone and kept it inside my bag. If he's not replying to my messages, then be it.

"Shall we get an ice cream?" Benjamin asks as he maneuvered the steering wheel of his car to the right.

"Yes please, I'd like a pint of cookie dough ice cream." I responded.

"You know you have to pay me for the ice cream." Benny stated as he handed me a bowl of cookie dough flavored ice cream.

"Can I use the best friend card?" I pleaded Benny.

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever, you always use that kind of card."

My mood brightened after I finish my ice cream bowl. Benjamin went to the counter to ask for napkins while I get ready to leave our seat.

"Should I drive you home?" Benjamin asked after we went out of the ice cream shop.

I took a glance at my watch and it was five in the afternoon.

"Can we go somewhere else? I still want to enjoy the seaside." I grinned.

"Let's go to the carnival," Benjamin replied.

From the ice cream shop, we walked for a couple of minutes before we arrive at the carnival. I was the one who paid for our entrance tickets since Benjamin was the one who brought ice creams a while ago.

We played a shooting game and I have beaten Benjamin. I played another round to win the prize and I won a sunflower crochet keychain.

"Can we ride the Ferris wheel?" Benjamin asked after we had bought two sticks of corn dog and two blueberry slushies

"Uhm," I was a bit hesitant. It's not like I have a fear of heights but I just don't feel like riding to Ferris wheels.

Benjamin took a bite of the corn dog. "It's fine. Let's just walk along the boardwalk."

I swayed my head. "Okay, let's ride the Ferris wheel."

Benjamin looked surprised but then it changed into a smile. "Okay,"

We lined and when we got the tickets, Benjamin let me enter the pod first and he follows from behind.

The ride started and the Ferris wheel started to do a turn. We finished the snacks we bought as we enjoy the seaside view.

"So, have Sebastian contacted you already?" Benny started the conversation.

"I don't know, I turned off my phone." I responded.

Benny was surprised but then he chuckled.

"So that's how you get upset with him?"

"Yeah, he did it first.. I'm just returning the favor." I drank the last sip of the drink. "Like, I know he's busy.. but can't he just update me? I look like a stupid waiting for nothing."

"Maybe he's just busy with someone." Benny makes fun of my anger towards Sebastian right now.

"Ha.Ha.Ha. Funny.. I don't think things like that because I trust Sebastian." I rolled my eyes at Benny. "Tell me about you, are you dating someone at Bernes?"
