Jenna ended up taking me to a fair. She needed up paying for our tickets, I said I would pay for any food, but she said not to worry about it.
"So what should we do first?" Jenna asked as she took my hand in hers.
"It doesn't matter to me as long as we don't run into and clowns or mimes." I said looking away embarrassed. I can't believe I just admitted that. She'll probably laugh.
"Okay. Got it. No clowns or mime's! How about that game over there!" Jenna said pointing to a ball throwing game.
"You're not gonna laugh at me for being scared of clowns and mimes?" I asked as we walked over to the game she had pointed too."
"Of course not. Everyone has a fear."
"What about you?" I asked.
"Mine is not being good enough, at least that's one of them. Anyway we came here to have a good time, so shall we?" I nodded with a smile. We played a few games, which resulted in a few prizes being won, we ate and then we headed towards a photo booth and took a few photos. Afterwards, she lead me to the Ferris wheel, but I grabbed her hand.
"What is it?"
"You'll laugh at me."
"I promise I won't."
"It's just I've been on a ferris wheel a few times and I get anxiety whenever it stops." I said embarrassed.
"I'll be there right with you." Jenna said and I nodded shyly. Once we were sitting in the ferris wheel I clenched her hand tightly but not too tightly and she began to caress it. It calmed me. Once it started I but my lip, and as soon as it stopped at the top, I could feel the anxiety.
"Courtney. Look at me." I looked at Jenna and she caressed my cheek.
"You're fine. I'm right here with you. Deep breath." I then inhaled and exhaled a few times.
I began to feel better. Just then Jenna kissed me. She quickly pulled away though.
"I'm sorry. I should have asked."
"No , it's okay." I said and she kissed me again.
"Courtney, I know we've only had one date, but I want you to be my girlfriend. Will you please give me a chance?"
Should I give Jenna a chance?
Yes, we just a met, but I feel something with her. Should I take a chance?
"Courtney?"
"Sorry I was just thinking."
"If you don't want to I understand."
"No, it's not that. I'm just afraid of getting hurt again, but I am going to listen to my heart and take a chance, so yes! I will be your girlfriend."
Jenna then hugged me and we kissed just as the ride started moving again. Once it was done, she took me to this lovely little spot away from everyone and we laid down on the grass and watched the stars. Tonight was perfect I thought. After an hour or so, Jenna took me home, we kissed good night and I headed to bed. Maybe things were finally turning around.
