Chapter 26

Courtney's POV
I had to get out of the house. I just couldn't be around Yu when he arrived. He has caused me so much pain by cheating on me. I thought he was actually a decent guy and yet it blew up in my face. Why can't I just meet someone who won't hurt me or Peyton. I thought I to myself. I walked along LA until I came to a cute little coffee shop. I walked in and their was only a small amount of people. I ordered a blueberry muffin and a raspberry tea with honey. Once I ordered I sat down and waited for my order. I sure hope that Peyton is alright.

Tom's POV
It's been about an hour since Courtney left. Yu had gotten here about 15 minutes after she left. Peyton seemed to be having a good time with his dad but Bill and I still didn't trust him. Courtney still needs to talk to him about Peyton but I know she won't unless Bill and I sit her down with him which we might just have to do.
"Uncle Tommy! Can daddy and I go to the park please?" Peyton said doing his puppy dog eye routine.
"Sorry bud. Mommy said we had to watch you." I said
"Come on Courtney doesn't have to know." Yu said
"Are you implying that Tom and I let you take our nephew to the park alone?" Bill asked suspiciously.
"Why can't I? I have a right to spend time with my son." Yu said with a glare.
"Yes you do but you don't have any parental rights. Courtney is his legal guardian not you!" I said
"That'll change once we go to court." Yu said
"Peyton why don't you go get your shoes on. We'll go to the park." Bill said. Good thing too because I was about to explode on this douche.
"I swear I don't see what my sister ever saw in you! How could you be such a douche! The fact that you are threatening to take Bill and I's sister's son away from her is beyond cruel." I yelled in anger.
"Not my fault she can't afford to take care of our son!" Yu yelled and I don't know what happened but my anger just over took me and I punched him.
"Tom!" Bill yelled
"No he needs to hear this Bill." I yelled at Bill and then turned to face Yu who glared at me.
"I don't know who you think you are but just because you have Peyton's DNA in you does not make you his dad! Courtney has been playing both the mom and dad role since Peyton was born! She has done it for four almost five years! Peyton is her whole world! Sure she can't give him everything he wants but it's not just money that's the issue! She does not want him to grow up spoiled! Furthermore, Courtney always puts Peyton's needs before her own. She is an excellent mother! You wouldn't know that though since you were never around! Don't you dare think you can threaten my little sister by trying to take away her son because Bill and I will fight for her! I'm glad she broke up with you! She deserves way better than you!" I yelled and let out a huff.
"Peyton is my son as well and I will see him when I want. We wouldn't have to deal with going to court if she would have just let me see my son whenever I wanted!" Yu yelled
"Like Tom said that's not going to happen! You weren't there when he was growing up so why now?" Bill asked
"Because I didn't know! Your sister kept him a secret from me!" Yu yelled.
"Only because she didn't want to tie you down while you started your band!" Bill yelled
"She still could have called. Peyton is my son and if this is the way it has to be then so be it. I will go to court. I'm sure the judge would love to hear how a single mom can't raise her son on her own and with barely any money." Yu said
"You are a douche!" I yelled and punched him again.
"Takes one to know one! I know all about how you treated Courtney when you were younger! If I didn't know any better I'd say you were the bigger douche!" Yu yelled and what he said not only made my heart hurt but made my blood boil. Bill could see the hurt in my eyes by Yu's words.
"That was uncalled for! We'll talk to our sister about some type of agreement where you can see Peyton but only if you don't take her to court." Bill said
"Fine." Yu said
"Ready!" Peyton yelled. Yu went over and picked Peyton up. Bill and I followed him as he put Peyton in his car. Bill got in my car and we followed Yu to the park. We watched him the entire day with Peyton not letting him out of our sight as Bill and I also played with Peyton. It would be a long day. At least Yu won't take Courtney to court if we talk to her. I hope she is doing okay.

Courtney's POV
I waited for my order when I felt a chair in front of me shift. I looked up to see a cute guy sitting in front of me. I began to blush and looked down at the floor.
"You're very pretty." The guy said right away.
"Thank you." I said shyly
"What's a pretty little girl like you doing here alone?" The guy said.
"If I told you, you would just get up and walk away." I said sadly.
"Try me." The guys said
"I don't make it a habit of talking to strangers especially when I don't know their name." I said and got up to get my order when I heard my name be called. I got my order and sat back down at the table. I took a sip of my tea and started on my muffin.
"Oh how stupid of me. My name is Merritt Goodwin." Merritt said
"I'm Courtney Kaulitz." I said.
"It's nice to meet you. So what's a pretty girl like you doing all by yourself here." Merritt said with a smile.
"Honestly?" I asked
"Yes I prefer honesty." Merritt said with a smile.
"My ex is in town and he's visiting." I said
"How is that bad? I mean you don't have to see him right?" Merritt said with a laugh.
"Technically I have to since we have a kid together." I said with a sigh.
"Oh wow." Merritt said with shock.
"I'll understand if you want to leave now. Most guys don't want to talk to a girl with a kid." I said
"Well I'm not most guys and I would love to take you out sometime." Merritt said
"Thanks." I said sweetly.
"So are you from LA?" Merritt asked
"No I'm originally from Germany but my brothers live here and I'm living with them." I said
"Oh cool. Would you like me to show you around?" Merritt asked
"That would be nice." I said with a smile.
"Let's go." Merritt said with a smile.
I got up and threw my stuff away and paid the bill and we left. I just hoped I didn't regret this. I thought as I left with Merritt.
