Chapter 13

Yu's POV
The show went extremely well tonight. Courtney and I were actually going to go out tonight and celebrate. Tom and Bill were going to watch Peyton. We were getting ready to leave and Tom decided to lecture me.
"You watch it. Just because you are dating my sister doesn't mean I like you....yet." Tom said
"Yet? So there's hope." I said with a chuckle.
"We'll see." Tom said
"Tom leave him alone." Courtney said just as she got her purse.
"What? I'm just being your protective older brother." Tom said
"Yeah after years of tormenting me and ignoring me." Courtney said with a laugh.
"Hey I thought we were past that?!" Tom said
"We are I was just reminding you why Bill was my favorite." Courtney said with a smile.
"Ha! Told ya!" Bill said. Tom groaned and glared at Bill.
"Mommy!" Peyton said and ran over.
Courtney picked him up and kissed his forehead.
"Be good for your uncles. I'll be back later." Courtney said
"Do you have to go?" Peyton said with a pout.
"Yes daddy and I have to but I'll tell you what if you are really good for your uncles since mommy doesn't have a show tomorrow and has a break for a day we can do whatever you want tomorrow." Courtney said
"Really?!" Peyton said excited.
Courtney nodded "Now be good. Who knows if you ask Uncle Tom nicely maybe he will do some more guitar with you." Courtney said with a smile and set him down.
"Please Uncle Tom!" Peyton said running over
"Sure buddy!" Tom said with a laugh.
"Bye guys! Have fun!" Courtney said and left with me.
We got in my car and headed to an Italian restaurant.
"You remembered I love Italian food?" Courtney asked in surprise.
"You'd be surprised at what I remember." I said with a smile. I took her hand in mine and we walked into the restaurant.
"Two under Phoenix." I said to the waitress.
"Follow me." The waitress said and lead us to a private table with candles.
"What would you like to drink."
"I'll just have a water." I said
"Lemonade please."  Courtney said
We looked at the menu to decide what we wanted and then I placed my hand on Courtney's.
"Courtney." I said but was interrupted by the waitress.
"Have we decided on an order?" The waitress asked placing our drinks on the table.
"I'm just going to have the penne pasta with butter." Courtney said
"I'll have the penne alla vodka." I said and she left.
"Courtney I've been thinking. I know I haven't been around Peyton long but just hear me out before you say anything." I said
"Okay?" Courtney said confused
"I know I wasn't there for Peyton but that's because I didn't know. If I had known I would have stayed. I would have helped you raise him. I know I can never really make up for lost time but I want to know him and you. I know we have only been dating again for a few months but if you would let I would like to put my name on his birth certificate if you haven't already and I want to legally adopt him well because he's my son too. I know you have the most parental rights but I want us to be equal as parents. Please Courtney? I want to be there for my son." I said seriously.
"Yu, I don't know what to say. I mean I'm glad you want to be part of Peyton's life but I really need to think about this. We barely started dating again and I don't want to get Peyton's hopes up. What if we break up? Then what? I don't want to put Peyton through that pain. I need to think about this." Courtney said
"Take your time. I don't want to rush you." I said and just then our food came.
We then talked some more and headed to a music store. While we were there something unexpected happened and not the good unexpected. Why?! Why, just when things were going smoothly did she have to show up. My ex Sandy Syn. Please don't notice me I thought as Courtney and I looked through some music.
"Yu? Oh my god!" Sandy said and hugged me. I looked at Courtney and she looked confused.
"H-hi Sandy." I said nervously
"How are you? Who's this?" Sandy asked curiously.
"This is my girlfriend Courtney." I said
"Really?" Sandy said in disbelief.
"Yeah." I said
"Courtney this is Sandy my um ex" I said nervously
"Oh um hi." Courtney said nervously with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"So how you been? We should get together sometime." Sandy said completely ignoring the fact that I had a girlfriend.
"I don't think that's a good idea." I said
"Why not?" Sandy said sadly
"Um I have a new girlfriend Sandy and it would just be weird." I say
"So we can't be friends and hangout?" Sandy asked
"Sandy I don't think that's a good idea." I said. I looked and saw Courtney was getting uncomfortable.
"Come on. It'll be like old times." Sandy said and got a little closer and touched my arm and next thing I knew she did the unexpected. She kissed me. Before I could pull away I saw Courtney run out of the music store in tears. I'm such an idiot! Why didn't I pull away right away! I pulled away and looked at Sandy in anger.
"I need to go. Never call me." I say and tried to run after Courtney but didn't see her anywhere this was not good.
