Being a reputed personality in the country, I was respected by all. I was also the one invited in all the kinds of events and parties and people look upon me to curry favors from me. But I like to maintain my distance from everyone. On my way to the office, I was working on my laptop when suddenly I caught a sight in front of me on the side lane of the road. A man was taking a small girl outside the school gate and the girl was crying. But the scene which I saw next didn't seem ordinary. Next moment, the girl was pushed in a opaque glassed van and the van drove off. I asked Keshav, my secretary and my friend to check who that number plate belonged to. Within a few seconds, Keshav told me that the van belongs to a person named Kareem and he is mainly involved in human trafficking. So, the girl he abducted was probably be taken by him to sell off. The girl looked barely 10 years old and a feeling rose inside me to save her, but why? I followed my gut and asked my drive to follow the direction of that van and asked Keshav to locate the current whereabouts of the van. Soon we found the current location of the van inside an abandoned building but when we reached there, the van already left. I asked my men to search the abandoned area and there they found the unconscious body of the girl. They brought the body to me and on initial inspection, I found only the minor scratches on the girl's body. I carried her to the hospital.

What I didn't understand was that if she was abducted, then why did the kidnappers leave her there whithout any security. Did they know that we were following them? But it isn't possible as we were very discreet. Anyway, since we found the girl, I asked Keshav to contact her school and inform them about the case. When I get up from beside her bed to leave, I heard a faint murmur, "Nanna, please save me, nanna, please come and save me." When I turn back to look at her, she was shivering and calling out her nanna again and again. I held her hand instantly out of unknown concern and she woke up and started screaming.

Ayan: Hey! Its okay, Its okay, you are safe now. The bad guys are gone

The Girl: Who.. Who are you? Where am I? How did I reach here?

Ayan: Relax little one, tell me what your name is?

The Girl: I...I'm Ivy

Ayan: Ivy, You have a beautiful name. Now, would you tell me what happened to you? Who were those men and where did they take you? Also, we have already informed your school, but can you also tell me if you remember contact of your mother or father so that we can call them?

Ivy: I don't have a mother or a father. I am from Sunshine Shelter Home. I joined the school recently and I was missing my nanna today a lot. When some mean girls pick on me at the lunch time, I was hit on the head by one of my classmates. I started crying and asking for my nanna. I was missing her a lot and just wanted to meet her. That's when my teacher took me to the principal who in turn called my home and asked someone to pick me up. The driver uncle working for my shelter home picked me up from the school and he is also authorised to pick me up in the school records. But he didn't take me to my home rather he pushed me in an unknown vehicle where 2 other men were also seated. When I was creating a fuss in the van to leave me, they hit me in the head and I became unconscious.

Ayan: So you knew the person who picked you up?

Ivy: Yes, I know that person. Nanna says that one should not go anywhere with strangers. Thank you so much for saving me uncle. What is your name?

Ayan: I'm Ayan (I was so strange at my attractions towards that small kid that I felt as if I have known her for years. But how is this possible?)

Ivy: Thank you Ayan Uncle. I'll tell my Nanna about you. She will pray for you

Just as we were having a small chat and Keshav was standing dumbfounded in the VIP ward of the hospital by looking at my gentle behavior, a middle aged lady ran into the ward and introduced herself as the principal. She told us that she has already informed the shelter home and that sister from there is on the way. She also thanked us and informed us that she will file a police report and will take the matters from here on. But I had a strange anxiety within me to wait for the people from shelter home to come here and so, once again, surprising myself, I waited there for the people from shelter home to arrive. Soon, a middle aged sister named Samantha arrived there introducing herself as the nun from shelter home. Seeing her, sudden disappointment surged through me. What was I expecting? Anyway, without saying another world, I took my leave from there and only when we sat inside the car, I asked Keshav to search the where about so Kareem and how the driver from the shelter home was involved with that man. Something was fishy about this case.

But still, It was the first time in years that I helped someone without any ulterior motives. I wondered how I get attracted by that little girl. I hope that I find my Myra soon. This longing is slowly turning into a fatal obsession...
