orange - November 24, 2023
I am an orange. The world is an orange. Absolutely what I say now makes no sense. But I choose it to be that way. We are oranges, living on an orange-shaped planet in this universe of oranges. What even is this orange-ception? You might be confused about what I'm rambling about. And you would be rationally correct. Even I do not know why I find becoming oranges amusing. But, it's something about oranges that makes everything better. You and I as oranges are cute. We grow on the same tree and are picked into the same grove of oranges. We can be different kinds of oranges. We can be mandarins. 我们很可爱! See what I did there? I guess that together we make a great pair of "Cuties"... Okay, okay. That's enough of the orange jokes from me. But, I'll be honest. I can see our lives becoming great as long as you're with me there in the moment. Of course, there will be oranges. We could have a picnic and look over the lake, river, pond, puddle, or any body of water while I peel an orange for you. I make sure to pick the oranges that are seedless. I would open it up and feed you slice by slice. I'd even peel the white veiny coverings of the slices for you. As I feed the orange slices to you, all I want is to just look at you. I would go above and beyond with an orange to prove to you.
And not just the fruit is beautiful. So many things in this world that are breathtaking can be orange. The sky turns into a bright, fiery orange as the sun sinks into the horizon. The autumn leaves that shed themselves or hang onto dear life in the trees are a beautiful orange. Every time I look at you, it's like I feel orange. I feel warmth. I feel safe. I feel at peace. Doesn't matter if you like oranges or the color orange, I can appreciate what you remind me of. You have that sharp, citrus tang that brightens up my day and always keeps me in good health. You have that bright, stunning glow that envelops everything like a shimmering halo, putting me into a trance at your beauty and giving me such warm feelings. And so, let me open and peel oranges for you in the autumn grass as we look over that bright orange sunset.
