Lovers' String - February 21, 2024

"I always knew about the story of the red string. It goes on that everyone has an invisible red thread tied around their finger connected to another person's finger. It symbolizes that everyone has only one person for them and it's destiny for them to meet and fall in love. No matter the distance or connection, you will find that one soulmate and get a happy ending. It's such a beautiful superstition. That no matter what I'm destined to fall in love. I would even have a red string tattooed onto my ring finger. Why is that? Well, I'm here to proclaim the reason. Proclaim and state that you are my red thread. How lucky I was to already meet my destiny. The one final good ending in a story of heartbreaks and sorrows. All you need to tug at your little red string and I'll be there when you want me there..."

"Your tears are dripping down your cheeks. Still, you look so happy that I'm here. Looking up at your beautiful self, my knees are going weak and shaky. You knew it was coming. It just took me a little longer to find the perfect time. I honestly thought I would've missed my chance. Yet, here you are. SO emotional as always. And you always laugh when you cry. You can't even see me clearly because of your teary eyes. You even ruined your white dress because of your tears. Don't worry. There's no one to see us. No pictures. No surprises. Just us. And while I hold your hands in mine, I see our matching croquet bows we had tattooed around our ring fingers. If that wasn't a sure enough sign that I'd be here with this ring, I don't know what else is. I know you wondered what moment realize you were the one for me. It was that moment. The random, spontaneous moment we got matching red string tattoos is when I knew I had found my wife. The daughter my parents would adore and love as they do with me. The mother our kids would run to hide behind whenever I get angry for them failing their math tests. The woman I'd gladly grow old with."

"And so, while I go down on one knee, can I ask you if I can be your husband. Say that you will be the other end of my lovely red string. Someone I can finally begin that life with. Please...will you marry me?"
