From the very beginning, it was always Kooks and Pogues.
Some people with everything.
And some with nothing.
That's the way it's always been.
And that's how they wanna keep it.
Some people make the best of it.
And some people fight against it.
The Merchant Gold was a part of that.
For my father and me, the treasure was our way out.
How we evened the scales.
How the Pogues win.
But at some point you kind of have to wonder was the treasure an escape?
Or was it a trap?

"Whoo!" Kie cheered beside Grace.
"Poguelandia!" Grace screamed happily.
JJ made his way down from the tree he had climbed and stepped back to admire his work. The flag he had promised to make was now blowing in the breeze, Crocs and all.
JJ threw an arm over Grace's shoulders before the trio made their way back to their makeshift camp. "You like it, Sunshine?"
"I love it, J," Grace grinned.
Kie mocked gagging next to her. "C'mon y'all have spears to make."
"What do you mean y'all? You're not helping?" Grace was quick to ask.
"Nah, I'm gonna help the other lovebirds with the fire. I've had enough of your grossness," Kie called over her shoulder.
"God, this shit makes my fingers hurt," Grace complained while setting herself down on a rock and beginning sharpening a long stick.
JJ sat nearby and got to work.
"You ever think about what'll happen when we get rescued?" Grace shook her hand dramatically.
"Rescued? From what? From..." JJ gestured around him, "from paradise? I'm not going back. Ever."
Grace smiled and shook her head fondly.
"I mean, look around. We got everything we need. Right here."
"Just like we talked about," Grace replied.
JJ nodded while grinning. "Exactly. How's yours looking? You ready to provide for the family?"
"Let's do it." Grace grabbed his outstretched hand and he pulled her up.
"Let's go kill something."
Grace grimaced. "That makes it sound so violent."
"Yeah, well, that's exactly what we're gonna do."
"If it bleeds I'll throw up."
JJ threw an arm over her shoulders as they made their way closer to the shore. "Things tend to bleed when they're stabbed."
"I should've forced Kie to do this."
"It's the circle of life, Gracie. Unless you want to eat coconuts forever."
"I don't know. You went crazy for my coconut chapstick plus, I'm a big coconut person." Grace shrugged.
"After eating them for the past month you still are?" JJ raised his brows.
"Yeah...on second thought let's go kill something."
"You ready?" he asked after peeling off his shirt. The duo made their way into the water, just below their knees.
