"Honestly, the hardest part is gonna be security, alright? So most of the guys are gonna be at the rail yard," JJ explained.

Kie met them at the docks after her parents cooled down a bit and they had gotten onto the ferry.

"We'll need to find some place and guard it, maybe a little further down the line, like a whistle-stop," Pope added.

"You guys are getting ahead of yourselves per usual," Cleo complained, "We don't have a way to transport the cross. What you think? On JJ's motorcycle?"

"It's a nice bike," Grace shrugged. She frowned when he didn't reply in any way. Not even a smile in her direction. She thought things were better after their escape from the Carreras. Maybe not.

"Okay, so, other options?" Pope surveyed the group for any ideas.

"Oh my God," Sarah straightened up stiffly.

Grace followed her line of sight to see Topper at the ferry's bar. "Oh my god is right."

"Oh my god, what?" Cleo asked, looking at Sarah and Grace's uncomfortable expressions.

Pope, Kie, and JJ not so subtly spun around to see what they were looking at.

"Is that Topper?" Pope asked incredulously.

"God I hate that man," Grace sighed heavily.

"Why... is he everywhere?" Kie complained.

Pope's eyes remained locked over her shoulder at the Kook prince. "Perfect."

Grace narrowed her eyes at Pope.

"Hey, JJ. I bet you Topper has a way to transport the cross."

Sarah's eyes darted to Pope in shock.

"Actually, Pope's right. He does have a rig," JJ nodded.

"He's also Sarah and I's ex-boyfriend so... I'm gonna go with no."

"Yes."

Sarah narrowed her eyes at JJ. "No. Absolutely not."

"Yes, come on."

"No," Grace said firmly.

"Gracie, yes."

She glared at him. "JJ, no."

"Sarah, you already got him whipped anyway, alright? God, I think he's still into Grace too. So why don't y'all just take one for the team?"

"What would John B say?" Sarah asked voice filled with annoyance.

"I'm good with Grace doing it," JJ shrugged, "Same sorta deal. He'll be alright."

"I can do whatever I want, thank you very much," Grace grumbled.

JJ nodded, pointing to her excitedly. "See, Sare? What about like... girl power? Sticking it to the man?"

Grace tilted her head in confusion. He really was going insane.

"We can handle John B," Kiara cut JJ off from any more stupidity. "Just talk to him."

Grace sighed heavily before standing and holding her hand out for her sister. With one last unconvinced look around the group, Sarah grabbed it and followed Grace towards Topper.

"I just can't believe you're here," Topper said after they had greeted him, "I saw the news. I... I texted you."

Grace didn't know why JJ thought Topper was still into her, the Kook's full attention was on Sarah. The guy had left her for her sister, there was about a zero percent chance he still liked her. She was fine with that though, more than fine. She'd just be backup for Sarah while she dealt with the discomfort.
