JJ cast the rod carefully. Cleo tried to convince him to let her do it but he was quick to shut her down. He may have gloated about his fishing skills for a little longer than necessary and Kie may have smacked him on the back of the head to get him to shut up.

They watched anxiously as the guard read their letter.

Pope lit it.

The firework snapped as it flew through the air.

The guard defaulted into a state of panic. "Miguel! They're shooting at us!"

Kie peered out of the shack they had set up in and watched the men freak out.

"Is he buying it?" JJ asked from behind her.

She nodded back at him as Pope lit another one.

He slung it over the shack and into the river.

Cleo stood on her tiptoes to see the guard jump as the firework caused the water to splash behind him.

"Oh shit. Oh shit!" Kie shouted suddenly.

The group ducked down as gunfire cut through the air.

"Pope, return fire! Return fire!" JJ ordered while staying low to the ground.

Pope lit a firework and chucked it over the shack, landing it right next to the guard's speedboat.

"There's too many of them!" one of the men shouted.

"Let's got out of here! Go!" the other one added.

JJ threw one more firework for good measure as the speedboat left the docks.

"Bye-bye," Pope said through grin.

JJ looked back at him, smiling proudly. "Think we're getting better at this."

Pope held out his hand which JJ promptly handshaked. "Oh yeah."

"Hey, hey," Cleo got their attention as she climbed out of the shack, "Ain't no time for celebrating. We didn't do nothing yet."

Kie followed behind her and added, "That's fair," while following Cleo past the boys.

JJ put his grin back on once Kie was ahead of them. "I thought we did something."

Pope nodded, smile forming once more. "We did."

They did their handshake once more as they followed after their friends.

"Well-done, soldier," JJ beamed.

"Come on. We gotta keep moving," John B announced while leading the way, "Singh and his men can't be far behind us."

Tensions were high after narrowly escaping a couple bullets to each of their heads. Big John no longer seemed to have a stick up his ass when it came to Sarah but now John B was the one rushing them. Neither girl took any offence to his rushing; they both weren't in the mood to stick around longer than they had to.

Plus, John B just wasn't willing to risk two of his favourite peoples' safeties. Sarah was the love of his life after all. And Grace was practically his little sister. He knew she would smack his arm and tell him she was the same age as him, but minor details. Beyond personal affections, JJ would hunt him down and make sure his head was on a spike if Grace didn't come back in one piece. John B wasn't all that keen on being murdered.

"Keep on that heading, northwest," Big John joined in. Maybe he wasn't done with the rushing after all. "That's the way the hand pointed. That's home."

Sarah led the way up a steep incline, Grace on her tail and John B right behind her.
