Today was the big day. Hanni's first day on the job. Last night Hanni threw herself onto her bed and knocked out so Danielle had to help her lay out the things she needed.

Hanni changed into her scrubs and attached her nurse ID to her shirt.

Danielle left early in the morning because she had errands to run. But Danielle was nice enough to pack Hanni a lunch and prepare her a quick breakfast, also leaving a note.

"Good morning Hanni! I hope you are well-rested and ready for the start of your new job!! I'm so proud of how far you've come and I'm excited to see how you continue to change and grow. Here are some delicious and filling foods, make sure you eat them all! :D"

Hanni smiled when she read the note. She grabbed the breakfast and quickly ate it.

Hanni took the subway but she made sure to be extra cautious and alert.

Hanni arrived at the hospital, clocking in. The receptionist told her that she would be working on the 7th floor. Hanni thanked the woman and took the elevator up.

When the door opened, a tall woman stood in front of the elevator. She was well dressed, black dress pants held up with a fancy belt and a silk button-up. The woman's long hair framed her face and Hanni froze.

"You must be Pham Hanni."

The woman gestured for Hanni to step out of the elevator and Hanni obliged.

"Yes, I am. And you?"

"Nice to meet you, Hanni. I'm Lee Hyein, the nurse executive here." Hyein smiled and went to shake Hanni's hand when she noticed the bandages.

"Are you okay?"

"Oh, right. Yes, I'm okay. It's just minor scraps."

"Well, I hope it won't affect your performance."

"It won't, it will fully heal in a few days."

"I wish a speedy recovery for you."

"Thank you, Ms. Lee."

"Please, call me Hyein. And, I'm going to show you around first. Follow me"

After the long tour, it was lunch break. During the tour, Hanni felt herself zoning out a few times. But she managed to pull through and finish the tour with knowledge of most of the layout.

Hyein invited Hanni to eat lunch with her at the special lunchroom reserved for the top ranks. Hanni was a little hesitant at first since she would be the odd one out.

"Relax a little Hanni. It's just for lunch. Most people in here are tired and too focused reflecting on their performance." Hyein spoke.

"Yes Miss, but I still feel a little anxious."

"That's okay, I'll be sitting with you so you won't be alone."

"And please, call me Hyein."

Hanni simply let out an awkward smile.

Hanni heated her food and sat down at one of the tables, waiting for Hyein. When Hyein was done heating her food, Hanni began eating.
