Hanni sat down at a bench on the side of the road. Her hands propped itself on her knees while she gasped for air. Hanni had been using up all her energy to make it out to the bus stop. Her body was aching everywhere. With each movement she made, she felt like someone dug a knife into her skin.
Hanni tried not to cry from the constant pinging pain she felt throughout her body. Hanni reached into her pocket to pull out her wallet. She opened the worn out synthetic leather wallet and..wait. Her bus pass hasn't been renewed yet.
"Are you fucking kidding me.." Hanni whispered to herself.
Hanni closed up her wallet and stared out into the road. Hanni didn't have any thoughts, she just sat there like a nobody. Hanni zoned out while looking out into the street. In that moment, she forgot all about her pain and coldness and just drifted away.

A door opening followed by keys jiggling could be heard from the front door. A few loud footsteps followed shortly after.
"Minji, I'm back." Hyein called out, while taking off her boots.
Minji sat on the leather couch with her feet propped up on the coffee table. In her right hand, she held a modern TV remote and with her other hand, she rubbed her chin. Minji didn't move or even twitch when Hyein announced her presence.
Hyein approached the couch Minji was sitting on and playfully smacked her head with a stack of papers. Minji slowly turned her head with her eyes squinted.
"Wipe that look off your face Minji." Hyein chuckled before taking a seat on the couch adjacent from Minji. Hyein pulled out her phone and began to type away. Meanwhile, Minji returned her attention back to the TV screen and folded her arms close to her chest.
Hyein looked up from her phone when she noticed the silence. Hyein furrowed her brows at Minji, slightly suspicious.
"Minji." Hyein called out.
"What?" Minji replied, without taking her eyes off the big screen in front of her.
"Where is Hanni?" Hyein asked, slowly and skeptically.
"She ran off." Minji answered, coldly and without a change of expression.
"Are you kidding me right now, Minji?" Hyein asked and dropped her facial expression into a serious one.
"You had ONE job, Kim." Hyein shouted before jumping up from the couch. Hyein pulled out her phone again and made a call to someone.
Minji turned off the TV and stood up. The older woman brushed her clothes with her hands to straighten the wrinkles. After, Minji walked to the backside of the couch and leaned her body on it. She crossed her leg over the other and folded her arms over her chest. Minji said nothing and just stared at Hyein who was pacing around the room trying to get the caller to pick up.
"Damn it!" Hyein yelled before throwing her phone on the dining table.
Minji tried to hide her inevitable smirk on her face seeing the way Hyein was freaking out. Hyein turned to Minji, a frustrated expression plastered over her face.
"Minji, where did she go? And tell me how in the world you managed to let an injured 5"4 woman escape from you?!" Hyein shouted at Minji while throwing her arms up.
"I didn't see where she went. She just ran out, and I lost her." Minji replied in a deadpan tone.
"Oh my god Minji. I seriously can't even begin to wrap my head around how you LOST her." Hyein shook her head while rubbing her eyes.
