8 am

A phone ringing echoed the four walls of the spacious apartment complex. Danielle, who was occupied with the task of cooking her breakfast, scrambles to search for the vibrating device in the living room.

After lifting a few pillows off the sofa and tossing them aside, she manages to find her phone. She quickly picked it up, seeing the name displayed on the screen quickly shook her core.

She hesitates before swiping to answer the call.

"Hello?" She asks and waits for an answer.

"Good Morning Ms. Marsh." A joyful voice from the other side.

"Good Morning!" Danielle replied as her face lit up in a smile, her eyes creasing to create a pair of crescents.

"I hope I'm not disrupting you in any way."

Danielle immediately began to shake her head, "No no, you're not bothering me Ms. Kang."

A pause.

"Was there a reason why you called?"

Haerin was so caught up with Danielle's good energy and comforting voice that she almost forgot why she called the girl in the first place.

"Oh right. I just wanted to apologize for not being able to pick you up last night, I promise I didn't make plans with Minji to avoid you or anything." The cat-eyed girl from the other end chuckled nervously.

If Danielle was being honest with herself, she felt a constant nervous feeling in her chest every time she talked with Haerin, especially if it was anything not relating to work. The way she looked at her with her pretty and perfect cat eyes made her feel so giddy inside.

She couldn't help smiling at Haerin's apology. It was always hard for her to get upset at anyone, but it was even harder for the girl to get upset at Haerin. There was just something about the way she felt when she was around the cat-eyed girl, a feeling in her stomach she couldn't even begin to put into words.

"It's okay Ms. Kang, I understand. I'm also sorry for not letting you know that I wasn't able to see you last night. I also wasn't hanging out with my friends as an excuse to not see you."

Danielle massaged her temple, completely forgetting to tell Haerin she had plans to see Hanni the day before. Could you really blame her though? She had been planning to meet with Hanni since the beginning of the week when suddenly Haerin decided to take her out for dinner without asking if the girl was even free.

"Well then, I suppose I should be seeing you tonight then, Ms. Marsh. Just remember to send me your address and I'll make sure to show up on time."

Even if Danielle was to ghost Haerin and not give her address to her, she could always pull up the girl's files and see her address there..if she was that desperate of course.

"Got it, Ms. Kang, I will send it over right away."

The call ended with a smile permanently plastered on Danielle's face, she couldn't help it. Not when the simple act of listening to Haerin's voice made her feel like she was floating on clouds.

This moment of bliss was short-lived when she suddenly smelled something burning in the kitchen.

"Oh crap!" She screamed out and booked it towards the kitchen.

She had completely forgotten about the food that she had left cooking on the stove before she got distracted by none other than Kang Haerin.

11am

Minji decided to take the day off at work. She knew how many lives she could've saved if she didn't call out suddenly, but she would trade all of those lives to keep one person alive, Hanni. Deep down her consciousness knew that's what she wanted, but her sizable ego prevented her from ever admitting it out loud. The raven haired girl was leaning against her balcony, smoking a cigarette.
