Minji got ready for work early in the morning, feeling like a new person from the amount of sleep she had gotten the night before. She no longer had anything or anyone bothering her mind. She grabbed her lunchbox that the staff prepared for her. She decided that she would eat breakfast in the car ride to the hospital to save time since she knew she had some paperwork to finish up on. Minji requested a breakfast sandwich from the staff and sat down on the couch to wait.

She scrolled through her phone to pass through the time, and a message buzzed and interrupted her time. A message from Haerin.

'Oh shit.' Minji thought to herself.

Haerin 🐸

> Remember to visit me this week, Unnie!

> Of course.

Minji almost forgot that she was supposed to be meeting with Haerin this weekend. She rubbed the bridge of her nose, disappointed that she forgot. "I need to get a grip."

A door opened behind Minji which was followed by footsteps. Minji stood up and grabbed the rest of her things, thinking that it was one of the staff members bringing out her sandwich. But when she turned around, and how very wrong she was. It was Soobin, with an unforgettable smirk plastered on his face.

Minji immediately turned the other way and began to walk towards the front door. Skipping breakfast was better than dealing with him.

"Minji, sit back down."

She froze in the middle of the living room. That voice was hard to forget. It sent shivers down her spine. Her heart beat started to race and her breathing became more jagged, as if it was racing with her heart. A pressure pressed harshly down on her chest and she felt her ears and face heat up.

"That is an order."

Minji let those words echo throughout the living room for a few more seconds before eventually, she turned around and slowly walked back to the couch. Her legs were shaking slightly as her dress shoes clicked with the marble floor. She sat down on the couch, saying nothing. Her hatred for her father grew more and more each day. If her hatred for him was a flower, she'd water it everyday.

Soobin then took a seat next to Minji, sitting a little too close for her liking. Actually, he was sitting so close, that their thighs and shoulders were pushed up against each other and it was so suffocating for Minji. But of course, the man sitting next to her was oblivious to her discomfort.

"I came here to tell you more about the upcoming wedding Minji." Mr. Kim spoke with his arm resting on the back of the sofa and one leg folded over the other. His voice was laced with authority and power.

Every time Minji had to listen to her father talk, she felt so belittled. She was used to having power over others, not the other way around. And everytime the topic of the wedding came up, panic overtook Minji. It was like she was being dragged through mud by her hand and she had no idea how to cut the rope. Minji was a genius. She graduated high school at the top of her class, went to study abroad in the US and graduated two years early. Her father then ordered for her return back to Korea and join his questionable 'business'. After resigning from that whole mess, she went back to school to pursue her dream of working in the medical field. However it wasn't easy, as she had to convince and beg her father to let her leave the business for a more in his words, "peasant job". But with the support of her mother, her father finally let Minji do what she wanted, and she was able to leave.

Although it has been years since Minji had participated in any of the activities, all the lessons and teachings never left her. She remembered all the techniques she was taught. Thus, explaining her excellent fighting skills.
