"Minji, wait!" Soobin shouted as he tried to keep up with Minji's hurried steps

Despite Soobin's persistent pleading, Minji continued stomping inside the house. She was using up all the remaining energy she had left inside her body to stop herself from crying. The pain she felt in her chest was indescribable. She got hurt by someone she loves, again. The familiar stabbing to her heart made her lose her sense of self.

No.

No.

No.

She didn't want to remember. She didn't want to think about it again. She didn't want to be reminded of it. She didn't want to recall how she felt. She didn't want to remember what happened.

"Hey, I'm home!" Minji announced as she took off her shoes in the foyer.

After placing down her bags and taking off her coat, she announced her presence again as she began walking around her apartment, searching for someone. After checking the living room to find it empty, she began to panic.

"Where could she be?" Minji asked herself as she started to run around her apartment frantically in search of someone.

"Linh, where are you?!" Minji screamed her anxiety now at its peak.

She didn't know what she would do if something were to happen to Linh. Minji would lose herself completely.

The sound of a door opening caught Minji's attention, and she sprinted towards the sound. She was panting heavily as her gaze softened at the sight of whom she was looking for. Her lips curled up into a small smile as her heart rate began to decrease. She let out a small sigh, relieved that Linh was safe.

"Hey," Minji held out her arms as she walked towards the girl standing in the living room.

However, she took a step back from Minji and held her hand to Minji's chest.

"What's wro-"

"We need to talk."

After sitting down and pretending that Minji wasn't scared for her life, she tried her best to put on a content face as she waited for Linh to speak. Different scenarios and results raced through her head; what if she did something wrong; what if Minji hurt her again; what if she made the same mistakes, she promised she would never make again; what if...

"Minji." A stern voice halted Minji's train of thought.

"Y- yeah, I'm listening," Minji replied nervously.

"I wanna talk about us."

That was the one thing she was afraid of. She anticipated that this day would come sooner or later. She had this weird feeling in her stomach that told her something bad was going to happen, but she brushed it off and labeled it as her just overthinking. She tried her best to stop overthinking, to stop looking too deep into things, but no matter how much she tried, it seemed like it was never enough.

"What is it?" Minji asked, praying that it was something good. Out of all the endless possibilities in the universe, all of them couldn't be bad right? Right?

Linh let out a small sigh before shifting her position on the couch, preparing herself for what was to come. "I think we should go our separate ways."

One sentence. One sentence was all it took for Minji's entire world to come crumbling down. One sentence changed the trajectory of the person named: Kim Minji forever. Miji sat frozen, her mind still processing the words that had just been told to her. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't wrap her head around the fact that her shy and reserved lover would be the one to end things. She imagined their breakup–that Minji would most likely be the one to initiate it, but it was one hell of a plot twist.
