Friday MorningMinji was eating jajangmyeon for breakfast, Soobin insisted on her having it for breakfast since they both had a long day ahead of them. Minji could feel herself slowly opening up to him. They had a good conversation over their food, where Minji got to know more about Soobin. They exchanged their various interests and hobbies. Although they had different interests, they both had one thing in common, they were both workaholics.
Minji nervously waved goodbye to Soobin who stood in between the door frame of the luxurious front door, she then entered the black BMW and secured her seatbelt.
"What the hell did I miss?" Haerin asked with a slightly disgusted expression painted on her face.
Minji looked at her with a blank stare, scrambling in her mind for the right words to say.
"Did dad make you be nicer to him or something?" Haerin continued.
"No." Minji responded drily.
"Did he give you a good night? Is that why you're so nice to him all of a sudden?" Haerin chuckled, with a sly grin on her face.
Minji immediately looked over at the younger one with a glare so powerful and sharp that it could kill. Haerin threw her hands up in defeat and took a sip of her coffee.
"But I did sleep with him last night."
Haerin spat out the coffee all over the seats, the droplets landing as far as on the dashboard. Those words were like a bucket of ice cold water being poured on her head. The driver stopped the car and asked if everything was okay to which, both of the sisters said everything was.
"You did WHAT?"
"We only slept in the same bed, I didn't fuck him. I'm not that insane." Minji replied, folding her arms across her chest and looking out the window.
"How much did dad bribe you with or have you lost your mind?" Haerin asked, worried for her sister's well-being. She knew that their dad forced Minji to pretend to like Soobin but she didn't know he would go this far, and this early too. They're not even married yet, not that if they were, it would make everything okay.
"Dad had nothing to do with this, I did it on my own terms." Minji replied coldly.
Despite Minji explaining everything to Haerin, the younger was still confused. She looked at her sister with lost puppy eyes, tilting her head slightly in confusion. Minji took the time to explain everything more carefully again. She told Haerin how she thought that maybe being with Soobin wasn't the worst thing in the world, after all he wasn't a bad person and always respected her boundaries and treated her with kindness. She had come to the conclusion that she might've just been making everything seem worse than it really was.
Haerin retaliated fiercely, not wanting her sister to give up and what she actually wanted. She pointed out that Minji didn't even like men, and perhaps she wasn't in the right state of mind. The cat-eyed desperately reasoned that Minji was just being emotional again and it was washing over her, hindering her ability to take time to think before she did anything. However, Minji argued back that she was more than capable of making her own decisions and she wanted to try a different approach.
"What about that nurse?" Haerin asked, hope draining from her like a lake during a drought. She was afraid that her dad had finally influenced Minji and she was the only one left in the family who had any type of critical thinking.
"She has a girlfriend already."
"I- I can't believe this right now."
Haerin was in complete disbelief at her sister's sudden change. She went from being adamant about maintaining her own beliefs and wants in life and succumbing to their father's strict ruling, to being wrapped around his finger. She was really worried about this, but she hoped that maybe, just maybe, Minji knew what she was doing and this wasn't going to end in disaster.
