Location: Home | KitchenMonique walked around her kitchen, making plates and mimosas for her and her friends.
They ended up spending the night last night after they all got off of work.
Messiah was going to give Monique as much time as she needed off but she told him no as she wanted something to occupy her mind from everything going on with her nephew.
"What's wrong witchu, boo?" Sadé asked Monique as she took a sip of her mimosa.
"Yeah you been acting off since you clocked in last night." Jazzy leaned on the counter, pouting at Monique.
"Y'all remember how I told you guys my nephew got this bad breathing condition?" Monique asked and they both nodded. "He ended up in the hospital after his football game the other day and it's a lot worse than the other times. The doctors should be running more tests so they'll hopefully know what is going on with him."
"I thought he just got bad infections from time to time." Sadé frowned at Monique.
"It's worse this time. He do got an infection but his lungs keep collapsing and he can't breathe on his own. They think there's something else going on but they won't know until they do some blood tests and other scans." Monique shrugged, playing with the straw in her drink.
"How you feeling?" Jazzy frowned, looking at Monique with a remorseful look.
"Scared." She nodded her head, wiping the lone tear that fell. "But it's okay because Zy's strong. He's always strong."
"It's okay to be scared, boo." Sadé reassured Monique.
"Yeah, don't hide your feelings pookie." Jazzy frowned, staring at Monique with sympathy.
"I just feel like I constantly have to be the example and be strong for them. That shit is hard and I don't want anything to happen to Zy." Monique played with the straw in her drink. She honestly could use the liquor.
"Don't hide how you feel, Mo. They understand that you hurting. Y'all all are. Being real with them gone help them more than it's gone hurt them." Sadé convinced her, checking her watch.
"I'm just especially worried about his girlfriend." Monique wiped her face, taking a deep breath.
"Why? What happened?" Jazzy tilted her head with a confused expression.
"When we were in the hospital the other day, Zy took off his oxygen mask to say something to her and his lungs ended up collapsing again. The doctors thought he was getting better but they need to run more tests because they think there's something else going on."
"She's been radio silent ever since. Nobody's heard from her and she deactivated all her social media. She thinks she did something wrong and she's already going through a lot." Monique finished, sighing deeply.
