"Okay, well your CT scan looks a little concerning, Zy. You been feeling okay lately? Any abnormal chest pains, breathing changes, things like that?" Zyaire's doctor, Mrs. Monica, questioned as he sat in the clinic room with his mother.
"I been fine. Nothing I'm not used to." He shrugged, swinging his legs as he coughed slightly. "I just been having a lot more coughs and coughing up blood and mucus more often than not."
"Okay and have you been staying on top of taking your medicine?" Mrs. Monica asked and Zyaire got quiet.
"Zyaire." Melody straight-faced him and he frowned at her.
"For the most part I have." Zyaire frowned, making a face as both his doctor and mother looked at him. "Just certain days I don't feel like taking it so I don't."
"Well, that definitely showed in your CT scans. I want you to wear a mask for the next week or so whenever you go out. You have another infection and I don't want to take too many chances. I'm gonna prescribe you with some medicine to help thin the mucus in your lungs which will help clear your lungs faster." Mrs. Monica spoke and Zyaire groaned and threw his head back.
"Is it as bad as the other times?" Melody shifted uncomfortably in her seat, adjusting her bag in her lap.
"No, don't worry Mrs. West. He won't have to be hospitalized again but you both need to make sure that you're taking your medicine, Zyaire. This is serious. The more you neglect your illness, the more likely that it can turn into something much worse." She fussed at him, causing Zyaire to just nod his head.
This conversation instantly killed his mood for the day. Not only this but the fact that he couldn't see Kiya either was what had him really upset.
Then, he just found out he had another infection. It's just the simple fact that he could never catch a break.
And he needed one badly.

"Momma gone kill me for watching this witchu." Zyaire said as him and Nolani sat on the couch watching Kubz Scouts on youtube while Zyaire wore his smart vest.

Melody hated letting Nolani watch it with Zy because he said the most out of pocket stuff but Nolani already seen and heard worse so she didn't really care.
"Oh well. What's wrong witchu? You been off ever since you and momma got home." Nolani glanced at her older brother, trying to figure out why he was in such a bad mood.
"I got another infection and momma cussed me out on the way home cause I don't be taking my medicine 100% of the time." Zyaire spoke, not taking his eyes off of the TV.
