"I'm bored." Yasmine sighed, leaning back and staring at all the boys in the class.
"Me too." Kiya sighed, reading through her emails as she had many new PR emails she had to review.
"What you doing?" Yasmine asked, looking over at Kiya's laptop.
"Reading my emails." She scrunched her face up all focused, responding to one of them.
She paused when she sent the email and suddenly felt a presence beside her.
She looked up and saw Nevaeh's cousin, Zyaire, sitting down beside her and leaning against the bleachers.
He didn't say anything for a moment and Kiya was more confused as she felt Yasmine's eyes burning a hole into her back.
"Can I help you?" Kiya questioned, exiting out of her email tab and going to canvas to see if her teachers posted any new assignments.
"Damn, I can't sit here?" He asked and she shrugged.
"You can but you never sat here before." She pursed her lips, avoiding eye contact with him.
Ever since they made eye contact in Ms. Cooke's room on Monday, Kiya had been trying not to anymore as the last time gave her a weird feeling in her stomach.
She also tried not to make eye contact with him anymore because every time she did, she found herself getting lost in his pretty eyes.
"I'm tryna become friends with my cousin friend." Zyaire spoke, looking over briefly at Yasmine who was looking at them both.
"She already got friends. She don't wanna be yo friend." Yasmine said and Kiya made a face as did Zyaire.
"That's too bad ian ask you." Zyaire shrugged, mugging Yasmine before turning back to Kiya. "Anyways, you and Vaeh sitting with us at lunch again today?"
"Y'all sat with us." Kiya pointed out and he shrugged.
Zyaire was honestly just trying to find anything to talk about with her. He wanted to get to know her better but had no idea what she was even interested in.
All he knew was that she had a YouTube channel.
"You got a little sister?" He asked and Kiya closed her laptop, looking up at him.
"Yeah, why?" She tilted her head, frowning a little bit.
"What's her name?" He asked because he remembers Ms. Cooke saying something about both of their sisters being in the same class.
Nolani was also talking about her new friend the other day so he wanted to see if that's who she was talking about.
India also had been talking about her new friend all week and Kiya was just happy that her sister found someone to hang with considering it's her first year in high school.
