Kiya sat patiently on the bleachers, working on some homework as she watched her sisters cheer practice at the same time.
It was making her nervous because India was a flyer and loved it but Kiya was scared the other girls were going to drop her.
Well, her AND Nolani because they both chose to be the flyers.
Every time they went up in the air, she crossed her fingers and prayed that they made it back down safely.
She was currently waiting on her boyfriend who walked over to mcdonalds to get them a combo meal to share.
He should be back at any moment now because Kiya had been watching his location for the past 10 minutes.
Some called her crazy, she just called it looking out for her man. 🥰
As if on cue, Zyaire walked into the gym, immediately catching sight of Kiya as she watched the girls practice.
Kiya looked over as she felt someone walking up, seeing Zyaire walk over to her with a bag and two drinks from McDonalds.
He handed her a drink before sitting down beside her, putting the bag between them.
"Hey. Thank you." Kiya spoke as he took the food out the bag.
"Hey, mama. You welcome." He greeted her, leaning over and pecking her lips three times.
Kiya sat there, waiting for him as he separated their nuggets, just letting them share the fries.
He handed her her honey mustard as he took his spicy buffalo sauce.
"Why you just staring at me?" Zyaire asked and Kiya straight-faced him.
"I'm waiting on you to talk, Zyaire. What was that earlier?" Kiya asked as she started eating, looking at him.
Zyaire heavily sighed, avoiding Kiya's gaze as he too started eating his food.
"When I tell you this, promise me you not gone treat me no different." Zyaire said and Kiya made a face.
"I don't even know-" She started before he shook his head.
"Promise me, Kiya." He said, looking deep into her eyes as all you could hear in the background was the cheerleading coaches loud voices.
"I promise..? Just tell me what's wrong, Zyaire." Kiya frowned at him, pushing her 26 inch black wig behind her back that she had crimped just last night.
He sighed, knowing he wasn't going to be getting out of this conversation. He sipped some of his drink before turning to Kiya.
"You remember when I told you my momma had high risk pregnancies with both me and Nono, right?" Zyaire questioned and Kiya nodded. "Well, my momma ended up getting bad asthma when she was pregnant with me and she had to be on oxygen when giving birth to me because she couldn't even breathe on her own."
