Chapter 11: Back Again.

"Violet! Y/N! Louis! They came back!"

You and Louis looked at each other before jumping up from the bench and walking over to the gates of Ericson's. You both went and looked for Clementine and AJ, but when you saw Clementine struggling with AJ in her arms, who was injured from what seemed like a gunshot wound right in his side, you threw open the gate and ran over to help, Louis following behind you.

"Shit, is he...?" Louis calmly inquired, crouching down next to you as you began taking AJ from Clementines arms, which caused you to slightly hiss due to the pressure on your shoulder.

"He's alive. He was shot. He's got a fever." Clementine frantically answered.

"His body must be fighting infection." You said as you laid your hand on his head.

You could tell Louis was hesitant about all of this at first, but once he saw AJ, somehow everything that AJ did went away. He had some sort of connection with AJ, though he would never admit that.

"Let's get him inside. I have everything I need up in the admin building." You adjusted AJ to fit comfortably in your arms, but the pressure on your arm was obviously too much, as much as you were trying to play it off and keep carrying him.

"I can take him." Louis offered, holding out his hands.

"It's fine. I'm fine." You shook your head.

"Even if you say that, that's not going to change that you're wounded. Holding him is gonna put too much pressure on your arm and it won't help your arm heal." Louis took AJ from your hands.

"Okay. I can still patch him up." You accepted.

"We got the shrapnel out of him." Clementine told you.

"We?" You questioned.

Clementine looked down. "It's a long story.."

You, Louis, and Clementine began walking back towards the building.

Louis looked down at AJ in his hands and frowned. "It's okay, buddy, I got you."

Part of you inside felt happy when hearing him say that. You knew how he was feeling because of everything that happened last night, but he's still helping Clementine and AJ. It just reminds you of Louis's good heart.
You all walked into the admin building. Everybody besides Mitch were in there, and they all looked at you, Clementine, and Louis holding AJ in his arms. Ruby looked at you, then AJ.

"Do you need me to help him?" Ruby asked, unsure if you'd want to patch someone up after the whole getting-shot-in-the-arm ordeal.

"It's alright, I got it. Thank you, though." You smiled, walking up the stairs with everyone now following behind you.

Louis set AJ down on the couch, then moved out of the way for you to check on him. You grabbed all the things you needed to patch AJ up.

"Y/N and Louis will take care of him." Violet told Clementine. "You come with me. We can talk in the office."

"Clem?" AJ weakly called out.

"It's alright, AJ. I'll take care of you. Just try to get some rest, okay?" You attempted to calm him down.

"Clem?!" AJ called again, only this time more frantic.
