(emetophobia warning towards the end of the chapter! it's not too crazy but still)
You guys were sitting in a very uncomfortable silence after you had just gotten your face cut open. The only sound in the air was the boiler, and the raiders talking in the distance.
Louis sat to your side, letting you use his shoulder as a pillow as you disassociated. You thought of every possibility. The raiders killing you, or killing everyone but you, Clementine arriving and getting captured herself, Clementine saving everyone, and more. But all you could focus on was the thought of you somehow being the only sole survivor of this situation. You mostly knew it wasn't true, but you had a feeling God wanted you to suffer. That had to be why you were here in the first place, right?
You could feel Louis's body start trembling, although he was silent, you could hear his tears hit the ground. He brought a hand up to cover his face.
"Lou?" You tilted your head up to look at his face.
He stayed silent.
You moved to sit in front of him, grabbing his hand to move it away from his face. He resisted, but he softened up quickly.
"I'm so sorry." His voice quivered as he tightly shut his eyes, trying his best not to look at you. The reminder on your face of something that he believed could've easily been avoided if it wasn't for him being so stubborn. "Me and my big mouth, huh?" He let out a chuckle, but it was a painful one.
"Come on, don't blame yourself." Your hands made their way to the sides of his face, and you gave him a smile. "I'd much rather get beaten and cut than have you get your tongue cut out. I don't think I'd be able to live without your jokes. Honest."
He shook his head, a smile creeping up on his face. He brought his hand up to yours. "Thanks." He sniffled and opened his eyes to finally look back at you. "Sorry, I shouldn't be making this about me. How are you feeling, Y/N?"
"It really doesn't hurt that bad. It stings like hell, but it could've been way worse." His smile instantly brightened your mood.
"I'm glad.. If there's anything I can do, tell me."
The two of you looked into each others eyes for a moment, just smiling. He brought you into a tight hug, which you returned.
"You being here and being able to talk to me is enough, Louis."
Right as the two of you released from the hug, you heard a couple familiar voices. Although you couldn't make up what they were saying, you could only assume it had to be Clementine.
As you looked up, you saw her walk in between both of the cells.
"I was right! Clem!" You beamed, smiling widely.
"Holy fuck." You heard Aasim say as he approached his side of the bars with Omar by his side.
"Oh, my God, are you okay?" Clementine looked worriedly into their cell, probably worried about Omar's injury, but as well as whatever could've happened while you all were separated.
"He doesn't look hurt." AJ added.
"I... yeah. I'm all right, we're all right." Omar answered, but his voice seemed shaken up, probably after the whole thing that happened with Lilly just a couple minutes ago. "You should check on Louis and Y/N first. Y/N's.. in rough shape."
