----------
It was a couple days after that whole situation, probably about a week or two? It took a bit longer than usual for your injury to begin re-healing, but you finally felt good enough to walk around. Of course, everyone was trying to get you to take your time and heal, but you already were mad with yourself for prioritizing everyone else so much that it costed you your ability to help more.
...Maybe it was good you got a break.
Your injury looked pretty gnarly the first time you got a good look at it, giving the fact it was recovering from infection. You felt so stupid at first, wishing you recognized the extent of your injury and took care of it in the moment so you could've been helping. But, alas, that's in the past. All that matters now is you do what you can to help.
The people at the Delta haven't attacked the school yet, which has been leaving everyone on edge. What is taking them so long?
Since you were finally able to walk without being in immense pain, you decided to go check up on everyone.
...Or more-so, Louis.
You stepped down the stairs and walked out of the admin building. You looked out on the courtyard. The walker scarecrows you were working on before you had passed out were up, the barbed wire was up on the fence, there were barriers against the front gate...
We were ready.
You gaze moved over to the left, noticing the dread-headed boy, holding Marlon's bow, trying to shoot at the target he had made. You begin walking over to Louis, making sure to be careful to not put too much pressure on your leg.
"Hey, Lou." You smiled, catching Louis a bit off guard and making him shoot at the base of the tree.
"Y/N! You're walking!" Louis cheered, returning the smile.
"And you're shooting." You add, pointing to the bow in his hands.
"Oh.. Yeah." He shrugs, looking down at the bow. "I thought I should get some practice in, giving the fact some homicidal assholes could pull up any day now."
"Uh-huh.. How's that going for you?"
Louis looked to the side, embarrassed. He laughs and trots over to go pick up the arrow from the tree. "Not the best. I'm working on it though!" He smiles. "How... How're you doing?"
"Definitely better than before.. And ready to get this stupid fight over with." You cross your arms as you speak to him.
"I hear that." Louis tries aiming at the target again, but you instantly notice why he's been struggling with his aim so much.
"Lou.. Come on." He shoots you a confused look as you walk up behind him. A slight blush plasters his face as you begin grabbing his arms, adjusting them. "Fix your posture."
Louis gulps and obliges. "Now, try again."
Louis tries shooting again, and he was closer, but he was shaking too much.
"You're shaking."
"Hah.. Yeah." He sighs.
"Here, let me show you." You hold your hand out, reaching for the bow. Louis places it in your hand and the two of you switch spots. "Watch me very carefully."
You adjust your posture and rise the bow, pulling the string, you shoot.
"Bullseye!" You cheered, putting your hands up in the air with a smile.
