Shinso's POV
Another day chained. I thought the first day he was giving me enough rope to hang myself but I guess not. This is royally fucked situation I've gotten myself into. I'm not dead though so that's a plus. The door creeks open and Denki walks in.
"I brought you food... and the key to your handcuffs," he says nervously.
"Are you going to let me go?"
"Well I'm not gonna chain you up anymore, but you still can't leave,"
"Why can't I? I won't tell the cops or heros where this place is or who's here,"
"That's not really a risk that we can take. There's just too much at stake to be honest,"
"So because one out of the four people that live here is a villain you all have to cater to his lifestyle? That doesn't seem fair,"
"We're a family. A family that he brought together. It's not about catering to his lifestyle, it's about staying together," he says sternly. It's shocking to hear. Has Deku really created a family here? Based off rumors and media coverage I, along with anyone else that talks about him, just thought that he was a cold blooded killer. Not a family man.
"How old are you and Deku?"
"We're your age. If everything had worked out, we would be starting high school this year along with you and Todoroki," he answers setting down the plate of spegetti and meatballs on the night stand.
"You're telling me that a high schooler is one of the country's most wanted?"
"Crazy right? What's more incredible is how he fights against quirks that should be able to beat him. He never stopped obsessing over quirks and how they really work," he gushes as he undoes the handcuff holding me in place. As soon as I'm free I tackle him to the ground. Pinning him down in hopes that he won't be able to zap me.
"There's something that has been nagging at me. If I'm too much of a risk to let go, then why not just kill me?" I question harshly.
"I like you," he answers simply. Frozen with shock, I just stare down at him.
"What?"
"I like you Shinso. Your quirk is so cool and I sympathize with you. The heros don't see your worth and I know how cruel kids can be when you're perceived as different. With what Dekh speculates your quirk being, I imagine you've always had a hard time mainting relationships with people. I've watched Izuku kill a lot of people, but you. You I couldn't watch die," he explains. I'm stunned speechless. How could someone who doesn't even know say such things? Speak to me like he's known me my whole life. Like we've been friends as long as we could remember. It's too strange.
"Wanna get off me now?" He questions bringing me back from my thoughts. When I hesitate to move he grabs the back of my neck, plants a hand on my waist, and flips us so that he's on top of me.
"Look I don't want to hurt you. I never wanted you to find this place and I'm sorry you did, but I have to protect my family," he voices sternly, pausing for a moment to let out a shaky breath," please don't make this harder than it already is."
His pleading tone leaves my heart hurting, but it's quickly covered with frustration.
"Don't spit a bunch of bullshit to make me feel bad for you. You're holding me captive and want me fall for you sob story? Don't make me laugh. If you really felt any kind of bad for my situation you would let me go!" I shout.
"I wish I could! But if I do then Izuku will step at nothing to hunt you down! He'll kill you, your family and anyone else he thinks you've told about this place! Is that what you really want?!" He shouts back. Heaving his chest out of breath. Tense silence settles between us. I'd hadn't thought about that. Deku is dangerous enough that low level heros have been advised not to approach him.
