The sun hung high in the cloudless azure sky, casting its warm embrace upon the landscape. A gentle breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, creating a perfect picture of sunshine and serenity. Honeybelle had decided to take all eight girls out for a day at the infamous Village Fair, one full of laughter and joyous occasion.
Evie practically bounced with excitement as she approached Pander's room, unable to contain the news any longer. She was eager for her sisters- especially Isa- to meet her new friend. Bursting through the door with sparkling eyes, she exclaimed, "Pander, you've got to come with us to the village fair! It's gonna be so much fun, and my sisters will love having you there!"
Pander began to fiddle with his hands, his eyes bulging in fear, "I appreciate the invite, Evie, but I'm not sure if your sisters will like me. What if I say or do something that makes them think I'm weird?"
Evie rolled her eyes and gave Pander a cheeky grin, before sitting down next to Pander on his bed. She looked striking in her bright red jumpsuit with her hair adorned in french braids. His face went hot as he could feel her scent of strawberries.
"Oh, don't be silly! They'll love you, I promise. Besides, they're really easy going. You already know Odie, right? She's just the best, isn't she? Oh, and Posy is just adorable! The twins are really sweet too, but Stella's a bit shy so...it'd take a while for her to warm up to you...Bea's lovely, you should probably avoid Mari, and Isa's...just Isa. But anyway, It's just a simple festival with music, food, and games. Nothing fancy."
"I'm not so sure. I mean, I've heard stories about how close-knit your family is, and I'm afraid I might not fit in." Pander muttered, avoiding eye contact.
"Trust me, Pander, you'll fit in just fine. My sisters aren't evil, they're welcoming, and they're excited to meet you. Plus, it's a chance for them to see the amazing person I've been telling them about."
Pander's eyes lit up hearing the word 'amazing' being associated with him. Still, the idea of meeting the most prestigious girls in the entire kingdom filled him with dread. "I...appreciate your confidence, Evie, but what if I embarrass myself?"
Evie let out an exasperated sigh before resting her head on his shoulders and stared pleadingly at him, batting her eyelashes flirtatiously. "Look, Pander, everyone's going to be having such a good time that no one will even notice. And even if there's a small hiccup, we'll all laugh it off together. It's all about enjoying the moment."
"Well, I suppose I could give it a shot. But only because you're asking."
Evie jumped up from the bed with an excited squeal, pulling Pander up to his feet, "That's the spirit! You won't regret it, I promise. We'll have a blast, and you'll see that my sisters are awesome. It's just a laid-back festival - nothing to worry about."
"Okay, Evie. I'll give it a try. But if things get awkward, you owe me one." Pander let out an awkward chuckle, allowing himself to be dragged downstairs by Evie.
Honeybelle, along with the other seven girls, were waiting for Evie in the grand foyer. The twins were bouncing with excitement, bombarding Honeybelle and the eldest two girls with multitudes of questions.
"How long is Evie taking? It doesn't take that long to get ready!" Mari snarled with an eye roll, her arm wrapped firmly around Hawthorne's. She was gorgeous in her tiny lacy bright red crop top and black pleated skirt, her curly hair placed in a high ponytail with her infamous magenta flower. She had spent more time putting intricate details into her hair and makeup, in order to impress her boyfriend, who was tagging along with the group.
At that exact moment, Evie ambled down the stairs, Pander timidly following behind.
"Speak of the devil" Isa murmured with her arms folded, "What took you so long, Evie?"
