Pander and Evie could feel their hearts stop. With panicked glances, they hastily pulled away, their faces hot with embarrassment. Avoiding eye contact, Evie picked at her fingernails whilst Pander plucked at the cuff on his shirt.
Appearing out of the shadows was Odie. Her arms were folded and she had a cheeky look as if she knew this was going to happen.
"Odie!" Evie gasped, "Sweet mother of heavens, don't sneak up on us like that!"
"Well I apologise for interrupting your little rendezvous, but I've been looking for you everywhere! We have a performance, remember?" Odie grumbled, placing her hands on her hips.
Odie gave Pander a gentle smile before retreating back to the palace. After giving Pander one last quick kiss, Evie ran after her sister, leaving Pander dazed.
In the final crescendo of preparations, the sisters gathered for one last rehearsal of their song, the harmonious notes echoing through the grand halls of the palace. With meticulous care, they adorned themselves in their ballet costumes, the fabric flowing gracefully around them.
In a display of sisterly camaraderie, they assisted each other, delicately zipping up dresses and placing pink roses in their hair, creating a vision of unity and elegance. Yet, behind the scenes, a subtle act of mischief unfolded.
Isa, donned in the white dress meticulously chosen for Madame Fontucker's approval, presented herself for inspection. However, the moment the discerning eyes of their strict instructor left the room, Bea and Isa executed a swift costume swap, a plan devised in secret.
As Isa and Bea stepped out in their swapped dresses, the other six girls glanced at each other, puzzled.
"What's going on here? Why have Isa and Bea swapped dresses?" Evie asked with a raised eyebrow.
Odie shrugged, "Well, if Isa says so, we better roll with it."
"Isa always knows what she's doing. Let's trust her" Bella nodded.
Posy gazed at Bea twirling in the special white dress admiringly, "It's so sweet of Isa to give Bea the solo."
"I hope Madame Funsucker doesn't catch wind of this. She'll kill us if we mess up the routine." Stella whispered apprehensively, shivering at the thought of the dance teacher's criticism.
Isa was busy placing her white flowers in Bea's hair, and the other sisters gathered around, offering their encouragement.
"Bea, you're going to rock that solo. Just remember to enjoy the moment" Isa smiled encouragingly, squeezing Bea's hands as if to eliminate the tension on Bea's face.
Bea pulled Isa into a tight hug, "Thanks, Isa. I can't believe you're doing this for me"
"We're all in this together. Let's make it a performance to remember" Evie chimed, wrapping an arm around Odie, who was holding hands with Posy.
