"Can I take a bit to think?"

I gestured to my legs that were wrapped around his waist and to my back touching the wall and he rolled his eyes.

"You're the one who has me pinned to the wall and y o u wanna wait?''

He moved to grip the underside of my ass and hoist me away from the bathroom but he still didn't let me go, instead, one of his eyebrows raised itself while he carried me back over to my bed.

"We can try...to be together I guess. But I need to know some things for my sake, ok? Please don't get mad-"

He dropped me down onto the right bottom corner of the bed and I crossed my legs over one another before he stroked my chin with his left hand, my head, I noticed, was perfectly aligned with his bottom zipper.

Don't over think anything you idiot, he just wants to talk.

"I won't, so just ask."

"...how old are you?''

"28, next."

He pinched my chin a little and I supressed a snort.

"I'm gonna have a little attitude if all we're going to do is 20 questions. Next one, come on now."

"Are you a virgin?"

"...not that that's any concern to you, but yeah, I am. Why?"

"I wanna wait for the other part..but I had to ask because of how close you seem to be to your little friend here."

I went to snap a rebuttle but he placed his thumb firmly over my lips and kept my mouth shut.

"Hang on, hang on, I can see it in your eyes..but I wanna try something else if you'll just sit still."

Suddenly I understood the positioning of my head near his pants and my breathing became a little uneven as I began to picture the pure heat pushing its way down my throat; it stirred an ache between my thighs.

"Er- sure, but be careful ok? I've never done-"

The cold air that was flowing into the room from the air vents stopped and the door to my room was kicked in with such force that half of it sailed across the room before it landed with a hard sounding thunk against the far wall. Daryl had let go of my face and jumped out of the way with his hands up in the air and it was Jay's panicked looking face that was in my doorway.

"Belle...generators...turned of...the clock!"

*

The giant red numbers slowly counted down and Daryl once more tried throwing an axe at the wide doors that led back to the halls we'd walked down the night before and I managed to stop him at the last second, grabbing the wooden handle close to the blade.

"Don't, those are made to withstand missles and things worse then that little measley axe. Doing that won't help get any of us out of here."

He shoved my hand away and swung it anyway and I ducked out of the way when the handle shattered with the force and sent the metal blade spinning back into the far side of the room, Rick was near the main computer trying to convince Jenner to open the doors and everyone else was quietly panicking; Jay was close behind me but he hadn't spoken much to me since he dropped by this morning to warn me about the generators. He told me the other night what imprinting was and how he felt towards me but I'd just let it be; Daryl whirled around like an angry dog and all but snarled in my face.

"Then why don't y o u open up these doors and get us out of here? Do something useful for a change!"

"That's enough, you're not talking to her like that while I'm around understand? Besides, we don't even know the codes to the main doors, only he does."

Jay put himself between the two of us and pushed Daryl back a bit before he looked over his shoulders at me, I thought I saw a glimmer of gold deep down in the chocolate of his eyes but when I blinked it was gone; the edges of his mouth were pulled down at the side and his thick eyebrows were knitted together. He didn't like what Jenner was doing either, I could tell.

"You're coming with us too, right Jay?''

"Mm...I don't think so, I just might stay behind when this thing blows like a torch."

My face fell and I pushed at his arms with trembling hands until I curled my fingers into claws and dug my nails into his skin.

"Please tell me that you're joking."

"But I'm not."

Daryl stalked off to Rick and Jay winced when my nails dug in deeper into his skin, hard enough that droplets of blood pooled around the edges of my nail beds; of course I knew that he'd heal just fine if I removed them but I was trying to prove a point. The red numbers on the clock were now less then 30 minutes down.

"Pray tell w h y you think it's a good idea for you to stay behind- because I don't see how wasting your life is a good thing."

Jay pulled my nails out of his skin one by one and rubbed his arms where they'd been before he leaned against one of the thing railings around the wide room and drew in a long breathe of air.

"I would rather die on my own terms and in my own way then having the chance to be turned into some drooling freak. Besides..I'm happy that you seemed to have found the one you love but it would kill me from the inside of my core to watch it play out before me."

The doors opened with an audible hiss and people began to run out at top speed but I just sat down on one of the cold steps and folded my arms over my knees, Daryl didn't even hesitate to look at me while he ran by but Jay's face contorted with rage; the numbers now read 15 minutes to go.
