I rubbed my eyes with the backs of my hands and I yawned when I slipped up from the bed and attempted to pad over to the door before the noise got too close and see who was there when I cracked the door open a little; most of the lights were off to conserve power but I didn't need light to see. I kept one hand cradled underneath the tiny buldge of my belly and nearly squeaked when I saw that it was Daryl. He had a huge gash across his forehead that was dripping blood and he was walking with a little limp but otherwise he seemed fine at first glance.
"Daryl?"
He ignored my belly and put a finger to his lips before he scooped me up into his arms and ran with me silently down the hall at top speed, a few doors were open here and there and there was no one out walking the halls until he flew down a set of stairs and I saw two bodies laying flat on the floor with their heads split open. A few days ago the place got put on lockdown because one of Negan's wives had helped Daryl to escape before she vanished but I never thought he would come back for me.
"Why did you risk everything to come back for me? I could have escaped on my own-"
Daryl snorted and ran through an open door that led to the warm night air and only then did he look down at my belly once, trading the snort for a sigh before he held onto me a little tighter.
"Sure you could have, terminator- I take it you moved on then?"
"....I don't know anymore, this wasn't exactly planned you know. Can we talk about this another time?"
"Whatever."

By the time we reached Alexandria the sun was coming up above the clouds and the people at the fence seemed to be expecting us, they let us in without a complaint and Daryl set me down on my feet as soon as we were on the other side; I looked at him with an eyebrow raised but he avoided my gaze.
"Don't ask questions you don't want the answers to, your friend just helped me get you back faster."
I poked at his chest with a pointer finger and I saw him smile but I didn't have the time to say anything back because shouts had ripped through the morning air, I turned around and say Jay tearing through the town like a bull elephant straight out of hell. He didn't bother to stop running until he nearly busted his ass at my feet and his chest was rising and falling quickly while he tried catching his breathe; his eyes never left my belly until he managed to breathe normally.
"I...knew you might...be pregnant....so glad...that you took...my warning....seriously."
He stooped down a little after I nodded and placed his ear carefully over the bump before a wide smile broke out across his face.
"There was almost a second where I thought I couldn't control it but I'm fine...but aren't you missing something?"
"Hm?"
I had to pull him away from my belly to make him stand up again but even then he still had the smile across his face, I kept one hand on my belly and used the other one to point between the two of us.
"We only fucked like twice genius- why the hell am I big enough to pass for second trimester already?"
He rolled his eyes; yeah, like that would solve anything.
"Belle, do you remember how much the both of us grew at the start of the experiment?"
I wrinkled my nose and the baby attested to my discomfort by moving around and twitching, everything had been so painful for those first few days.....it wasn't exactly a picture perfect picnic that I wanted to remember.
"Thought so. Think about this little nugget's parentage for a second- two werewolves, immune to the virus....growing more then the average human with the genetic coding to heal from damn near any wound known to man...."
I exhaled sharply when the baby delivered a sharp kick to my ribs but it only seemed to furthen his good mood.
"That child is going to have the best genetic coding in existence and its parents are living proof of that- if my math is right you'll give birth of it before fall's even here."
*Two Months*(August)
"Morning."
Aarom smiled on his way into the doctor's house as I walked out and I winced before coming down the short steps as softly as I could, my belly felt so huge now that it had the rights to be its own continent; the baby seemed to understand not to move around too much because it'll cause me pain but some things were still hard. The war with Negan came to a stop before summer was halfway through a few weeks ago and the only major death from that was Carl, everyone was more or less still recovering from the events still with Negan being held in a prison cell here, most of his people had died but there were a few trying to have a normal life within the walls. Most of the old leadership was gone now so a few people formed a council that met twice a week and there were already blueprints in action to expand the walls and garden plots next summer, life was finally starting to feel normal again. Well, if you could count my relationship normal....Jay and I agreed to cut off what we had before so I could try and ammend things with Daryl but he lived with us during my pregnancy so he could be close to our daughter. I had no problems with letting him stay with us but some days I still got heart palpatations thinking back on how my first pregnancy went. I opted not to find out the sex until the thing was born but Jay had his notions that it was going to be a little girl.
