Jay padded up to the tiny porch and put a big paw down on some of the boards that creaked under his weight and from the noise it made it sounded like the whole porch needed to be replaced.

Some of the flooring will need to be replaced but it shouldn't be too hard with my strength. Wanna chekc the inside out with me?

We tied our clothes around one of our legs like usual but I had to tie mine a certain way now to hold the ring safely in place, but something in the air had most of my fur standing on end.

I don't know...something doesn't feel right and I can't put my finger on it...do you feel that?

Jay tilted his head to the side and sniffed the air before his left ear twitched back.

Can't say that I do, and I can't hear anything either. What's it feel like?

Like we're missing something....something bad. Remember this place, but I need to go back.

I turned around to leave but he danced his way in front of my to block my path.

I'm staying here to work on these things if you need me you know how to call me...ok?

He licked at my face again but this time I just shrugged him off and followed our scent trail back to the prison.

"Oh my god, is he alive?''

Hershel was laying down in bed with one of his hands cuffed to the metal frame with Lori and Carol by the stump of his right leg trying to stop the bleeding with bunched up towels and sheets, Rick and Daryl were in the other area apparently arguing with some prisoners who survived that they found; Maggie was holding onto both Glenn and Beth out in the hall and I was just mortified.

"He got bit and Rick had to cut it off before the infection spread, we don't know if he'll make it...he won't without bandages but we haven't found the infirmary yet."

A door opened from somewhere and Carl walked in with a pistol and a little bit of blood splattered onto his face, a duffel bag in his right hand.

"I found it, the infirmary."

Carol's eyes widened as she took several packets from the bag to wrap his leg up but Lori just stared at her son in anger and pointed at Hershel with red stained arms.

"Are you crazy? Do you see this? This was with the whole group."

"But we needed the bandages and I found-"

"You could have d i e d!"

"Then get off my back."

Carl stormed out of the cell and the arguing stopped as everyone listened to his departure, but I couldn't stop staring at what was left of the one leg. I had an idea...but...Jay was too far away for me to ask. I just knew that what little bit of my powers with my blood from the one day Jay sliced his hand clean open at the barn. The exposed part of his stump looked raw, the flesh ribboned into strips, and I knew that he would catch an infection soon if one hadn't set in already.

"...does someone have a knife? I think I can help stop the infection before it starts."

Carol stopped wrapping the stump and blinked a few times before Lori walked out clutching at her stomache with tears in her eyes and Glenn took her place, he had a knife in the belt around his waist but he made no move to give it to me.

"Why do you need a knife?''

"My blood....if I put some on the end of his stump it'll help stop the bleeding...he could have a chance."

"Is something like that safe? Your blood won't hurt him will it?"

I gestured to his elevated stump  before he finally handed me the knife and I just held the cold blade in my left palm, remembering all the pain from when I first transformed.

"He should be fine, but look at the state of him now Glenn. He could die, and my blood will at least staunch the the wound- watch."

I nudged Carol to the side a little and quickly sliced my palm, wincing when I made a fist to squeeze my blood out in little droplets into Hershel's open leg wound, already I felt my body trying to heal itself but I managed to squeeze out a decent bit before it closed itself up; already seeing a difference in the state of his wound. The flesh looked healthier around the edges and some of the torn bits had tried to sew itself back together again and the artery had closed itself off. Hershel's chest started moving smoother with each breathe he took and his body even relaxed while Carol finished wrapping up the stump in a few layers of bandages.

"...I never knew you could heal like that.."

I shrugged my shoulders and kept my hand up close to my heart before I walked out of the cell and Carl unlocked the main door for me, I froze when I saw the men in blue jumpers on the far side of the room but Daryl quickly blocked me from their view.

"You shouldn't be in here Belle. Where's your friend?"

"He's...away..who are they?"

I tried peering arond him again but he side stepped me and put both of his hands on my shoulders to anchor me in place.

"Inmates who were locked up in the canteen, that's where we had to take his leg. They agreed to give us half the food stocked in there if we helped them clear out their own cell block."

I finally managed to look around him at the men but a shorter one with greasy black hair pulled back into a pony tail leered at me and I stepped back.

"You're helping them? Why don't you turn them out?"

Daryl shrugged
