KAYLA
A wish upon a well...
It is weird, the fact that only after a few days that I wished for him, he was now here. The funny part of it all, is that now that he is here, I wish he wasn't.

Wishes upon wells can't ever be fulfilled, right? It's just a mythology. And besides, when I had wished, there was no well, and a pond surely doesn't count.

But yet he's here. The same person I remembered. He looked better than I had last seen him. His condition isn't like the last time. In fact he looked new and properly groomed.

"We are very happy to be working with you Mr. Stephens. It is a very big opportunity for our company."

"The pleasure is all mine,Mr. Edwards. We will be seeing each other much often now."

As he spoke, my heart skipped cause I knew even if he wasn't looking at me, I knew he was speaking to me.

"That is very true. Let me introduce you to the people you will be working with then." My boss spoke and I so wished the ground would absorb me because I knew it was now that he would come face to face with me clearly.

"First, I would like to introduce you to all the board members." He went on to introduce everyone as I kept dreading the time the time I was to be introduced. All through the introduction,  he kept on looking at me, his eyes held no emotion, just like the first time we had met. His face was expressionless and yet I somehow I knew what he was hiding behind his cold expression.

"And this is my personal assistant, Ms Matthews. She is a good spot and.very much efficient, you can tell she loves what she does, a blessing to this company in fact."I tried to forge a smile as my boss showered all compliments on me.

Something in Ian shifted and I wasn't ready for what he was going  to say.

"A blessing indeed."He whispered it but I still heard what he said and for some reason my heart kept racing.
It seemed no one else had heard what he had said.

"Mr. Edwards, you flutter me.Am not all that."I tried to make the atmosphere less heavier than it was by making small talk with my boss but some how it didn't change a thing.

His eyes never left mine, and even when I looked away, I felt them piercing into my skull.

"I look forward to working with you Ms.Matthews. And if you are as good as your boss says, then we shall get along pretty well." His voice was calm, yet terrifying. Hard yet soft. Everything about him was threatening and I silently  prayed that this was a dream. That he was not here, and yet it wasn't.

He was here. And he didn't look like he was about to leave.
